The above is a 90-day dry-aged Blackmore Wagyu Ribeye from Chef Pynt of Burnt Ends. I was so very lucky to get this and then have the chance to reverse-sear cook at home. Environment and Setting
Bedrock Bar and Grill is a high-end steakhouse in the heart of Singapore, ideal for a date, special occasion, or massive family feast. The restaurant is conveniently located near several different modes of public transit. Somerset Station on the MRT’s North-South line is the closest stop, and it’s only a few minutes walk away.
As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you’ll feel the friendly atmosphere. The atmosphere is stylish and classy, with a contemporary spin on traditional steakhouse elements. The low lighting makes the room feel warm and inviting, suitable for a date or a serious business discussion. I have done both, in fact, my first time here was a business lunch. I also now prefer to sit outside and watch the shopping footfall pass you by as you dine.
Food and Menu
Let’s go on to the most vital part of any steakhouse: the food. The menu at Bedrock Bar and Grill is extensive, and it includes not only USDA Prime but also Australian Wagyu and Japanese Kobe steaks. Lamb chops, roasted chicken, and grilled fish are just a few of the other meat options on the menu.
The Tomahawk Steak, a 1.2-kilogram bone-in ribeye, is a popular choice at Bedrock Bar and Grill. The steak has a crisp outside and a juicy, tender interior, just like it should be. It comes with a choice of condiments and sides, such as truffle fries, roasted garlic, and creamed spinach.
Bedrock Bar and Grill features a variety of appetizers, salads, and desserts in addition to their meat specialties. The Lobster Bisque, the Traditional Caesar Salad, and the Chocolate Fondue are all excellent choices. I love their French Onion Soup. It is off-the-charts good.
Costs and Availability
Bedrock Bar and Grill provides excellent service. The staff is warm and helpful, and they really care that you have a good time at the restaurant. The wait staff is well-versed in all items on the menu and may make personalized suggestions. We have experienced this on every visitation.
The prices at Bedrock Bar and Grill are a little steep. Although the pricey menu and attentive service may put off some diners, they are well worth it. A full meal will cost between SGD $150 and SGD $200 per person.

Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse, on Mohamed Sultan Road's
I went here with the Wife an age ago for her birthday, and it still lingers in the memory banks. Incredible open kitchen to watch the masters of their trade in action at Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse.
It’s likely that Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse would be on the top list for any Singaporean who enjoys a good steak. The excellent service, warm atmosphere, and mouthwatering Italian steaks at this restaurant have made it a fast favorite among both locals and visitors. All aspects of Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse in Singapore, from its location and decor to its food and service make it stand out.
Environment and Setting
Located at 26 Mohamed Sultan Road [1], Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is only a short drive from the heart of the city. The restaurant’s location in a charming historic shophouse contributes to the relaxed and private vibe patrons experience there. With its leather seats, low lighting, and candlelit tables, the interior is cozy and welcoming. Low lighting means it is dark in there, hence me stealing a photo from them as mine were so bad.
Guests may get a front-row view of all the action in the restaurant’s kitchen by sitting at Chef’s table at Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse.
Food and Menu
Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse is known for its excellent Tuscan-style steak, which is the restaurant’s main attraction. The steak is seasoned with only salt, pepper, and olive oil before being seared to perfection over a wood-fired barbecue.
The restaurant is known for its steak, although it also serves fish, spaghetti, and salads. The Grilled Octopus, Burrata Cheese (I’ll vouch for this… OMG incredible), and Tagliatelle with Wild Mushrooms are three of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.
Costs and Availability
Superior service is only one of the many things that set Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse different from the competition. When it comes to making sure each and every one of their customers is satisfied, the staff here truly goes above and beyond. The staff is always ready to offer advice, whether it is on what to order or what wine to mix with it.
Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse has some of the highest prices in the area. This is not a cheap eatery, but the excellent cuisine and service are well worth the cost. A full meal will cost between SGD $150 and SGD $200 per person. It’s up there on price, but worth every cent.

Experience a Taste of Europe & Japan at The Winery Siglap.
The Winery Siglap is an all-encompassing wine-tasting experience in the form of a European wine bar and restaurant. This little restaurant has one of the best selections of European vintage wines in all of Singapore, and it’s the ideal place for wine connoisseurs to share their passion with like-minded friends over small meals that highlight the wine’s subtleties.
Dinner & Menu Options
The modern Spanish tapas, with a Japanese twist, on the menu at the Winery Siglap are great for sharing and complementing the broad wine list. Wine and cheese enthusiasts will find this to be a haven, as the menu features both. Callouts are the brunch, Padron Peppers, Jamon, Suckling Pigs, and the fast-becoming infamous Tomahawk Steak.
The Winery Siglap has a homey, intimate vibe thanks to the dim lighting and wooden furnishings. Private meetings and small groups can be accommodated in the bar and restaurant’s secluded rooms, tasting room, and walk-in wine cellar. My family, personally, just loves sitting outside under the ceiling fans, chowing down whilst watching the world pass us by.
Choosing Wines
The Winery Siglap offers one of the most extensive lists of European vintage wines in all of Singapore. The wine-tasting experience is elevated by the restaurant’s walk-in wine retail booth, where guests can peruse bottles and make purchases to enjoy at home. Staff members are well-versed in the available wines and can offer suggestions for guests to enjoy with their meals or purchase to take home. It’s a cave within a cave.

Noka by Tippling Club
It’s not so far away at Funan, but I so wish this was one of the Steak restaurants near me.
Noka by Tippling Club is a cutting-edge Japanese restaurant with a contemporary vibe. My good mate, Chef Ryan Clift is the brainchild behind it, bringing his Tippling Club quirk to Japanese top-end food. The restaurant, which occupies the rooftop of Funan Mall, is super cool. Also, the market garden there supplies them with all their veggies, edible flowers, herbs, and so on.
Indulge in a wide selection of flavorful, spirit-infused small dishes and seasonal omakase (chef’s choice) menu items at Noka by Tippling Club. The restaurant is particularly proud of its commitment to employing only the freshest, highest-quality Japanese ingredients sourced directly from local growers, fishermen, and manufacturers.
Noka by Tippling Club‘s menu was carefully crafted to include a variety of options suitable for diners of all palate preferences. Hamachi (Yellowtail), Grilled Eel, Japanese Wagyu Beef, and a variety of freshly flown-in Sushi and Sashimi are some of the must-try meals at the restaurant.
Noka by Tippling Club is known for its excellent menu and extensive range of Japanese whisky highballs, cocktails, and handmade sake. The sommeliers at the restaurant can help you choose the right wine to go with your meal.
The sleek timber accents and modern lighting provide a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere perfect for a romantic dinner for two, or a hectic family graze as is usual for me.
Chef Ryan Clift, owner, and executive chef of the innovative Singaporean eatery Tippling Club, is also behind the concept for Noka by Tippling Club. Noka is a pun on the Japanese word for “farmhouse,” alluding to the restaurant’s commitment to using only the freshest local ingredients.
In conclusion, Noka by Tippling Club is a fantastic option for foodies in search of a contemporary Japanese meal in Singapore. It’s no surprise that the restaurant has grown so famous among both locals and visitors because of its creative menu, top-notch service, and breathtaking rooftop location. It really is my favourite Japanese restaurant in Singapore, and that Japanese Wagyu Kagoshima Sirloin Steak is unbelievably good.

Burnt Ends by Chef David Pynt, Michelin Star Steaks
Chef-Owner Dave Pynt opened the innovative BBQ restaurant Burnt Ends, which currently has one Michelin star. The eatery’s prior location was on Teck Lim Road, but they’ve since relocated to a larger location in Dempsey Hill. The restaurant’s high standards for both food and atmosphere have helped it land on the World’s 50 Best lists consistently.
The new Burnt Ends Dempsey location is rustic and expansive, with a huge and impressive layout. The restaurant’s uncompromising nature has survived the relocation, and it continues to serve the same exquisite dishes that made it famous. Getting a table at this highly sought-after restaurant is challenging, currently, 2-months are booked out in advance.
Burnt Ends lives up to its reputation for delicious meals mostly cooked in its HUGE twin brick ovens. It is a foodie heaven to sit and watch the chefs in action with thede ovens.
On the menu at Burnt Ends, you’ll find a wide selection of grilled and smoked meats, as well as tasty sides to round off your meal. Burnt Ends Sanger is the restaurant’s signature dish, and it comes with pulled pork shoulder, coleslaw, and chipotle aioli. The smoked quail egg with smoked potato and chorizo is another must-order. The restaurant also features a large wine, beer, and cocktail list.
In sum, Burnt Ends at Dempsey is a fantastic eatery that you shouldn’t miss. Dempsey’s new digs are vast and rustic, and the food is top-notch. However, securing a reservation is notoriously difficult, so plan ahead. If you go to their booking site you won’t see any availability for at least 2 months. But, believe me, once you get in you will not regret it. It is one incredible dining experience, an done you’ll be talking about for months after. MUST TRY!!!

Tomahawk – Contemporary Steakhouse (Formerly O’maJ)
Tomahawk Contemporary Steakhouse does Tomahawk steak, and does it really well. We went here once and were blown away by just how good their Tomahawk steak is. You have to give them time to cook this bad boy, which is music to my ears as that means they are cooking from scratch, and likely reverse-searing with no site of a boil-in-the-bag or pre-cooking either.
What you get is this BEAST of a Tomahawk steak. It is stunning when it arrives and then they carve at table-side and add in some food theatre with a flaming Chef Torch to increase your preferred doneness accordingly. Woof.
This really was one of the best steaks in Singapore I have had, and I just wish it was one of the steak restaurants near me. It’s really in one of the strangest locations for a restaurant. When we went there were also roadworks and it was just horrible to get there. But, worth it.
Tomahawk Contemporary Steakhouse is known for its selection of quality steaks and Wagyu tomahawks, hence the name of course.
Located in the heart of Novena, Tomahawk Contemporary Steakhouse is one of Singapore’s premier steakhouses. The restaurant is well-known among locals and visitors alike for its wide selection of premium steaks and iconic Wagyu tomahawks, carved table-side.
A total of eighty-four diners have given the restaurant a 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor. The restaurant has received high marks from patrons for both its food and service. The restaurant’s decor is really up-to-day and stylish, and they used to allow dogs inside too (I found this a little strange to be honest).
The Wagyu tomahawk steak at Tomahawk Contemporary Steakhouse is one of their most popular items, and for good reason. We also recommend the prime rib-eye steak since it is soft and juicy when cooked to perfection. The main courses are perfectly complemented by the sides, which include things like truffle fries, creamed spinach, and soups to actually die for.
In sum, anyone in search of excellent steak in Singapore should make a reservation at Tomahawk Contemporary Steakhouse. It’s worth checking out for the wide variety of top steaks and wagyu tomahawks on offer, as well as the outstanding service and stylish atmosphere. While the costs may seem steep at first, the superb quality of the dishes more than makes up for it. These are sharing platters and a half. Please be sure to try the soups, they are just incredible as are their tomahawk steaks.

Lime House Katong
This is a classic off-piste for this review. This is not a steak house by any stretch of the imagination, but the steal they serve is exceptional, so it joins our list of the top 24 best steaks in SG. Lime House Katong is a Caribbean restaurant serving traditional tapas, mains, and sides as well as sweets and drinks. Plus ONE awesome steak dish you simply must try one day.
Lime House Katong is a wonderful new addition to Singapore’s thriving dining scene on the East Coast. Since most Singaporeans aren’t familiar with Caribbean food, this restaurant is perfect for individuals with an adventurous palate. It ain’t steak, but try the goat curry, OMG!!!
Based on 176 reviews, the restaurant has gotten an average rating of 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor. Customers have raved about the restaurant’s delicious food, friendly service, and warm ambiance. Tapas like Doubles, mains like Jerk Chicken, and sides like Fried Plantains are just a few of the classic Caribbean delicacies that can be found on the menu. The cocktails, particularly the variety of rum-based drinks, are highly recommended as well.
The Jerk Chicken at Lime House Katong is a must-order if you’re looking for a dish that’s both tasty and tender. Also highly recommended is the Caribbean Seafood Boil, a hearty and delicious meal that can be enjoyed solo or with friends. Dessert options at the restaurant include the rum-soaked Rum Baba cake, which is a popular choice. But, for this blog, please ensure you try that steak offering. It is just stellar!!!
For those in search of genuine Caribbean food in Singapore, I highly recommend Lime House Katong. It’s well worth going to, what with the pleasant ambiance, top-notch service, and delicious food.

Asador Joo Chiat
These boys are just down the road. How lucky I am to have this as one of the Steak restaurants near me. They are the ‘sister’ restaurant to one of our all-time favourite Singapore restaurants, Next Door Spanish Cafe. Same owners and same chef, just Asador steps up a notch, and a half.
Located in the heart of Joo Chiat, Asador is a Spanish grill house with a focus on authentic flavors. Everything ios cooked over wood on their amazing Gaucho grills or HUGE brick oven, and I mean everything.
Bringing authentic Spanish cuisine to the Joo Chiat neighborhood, Asador is a welcome addition. The restaurant is perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family because of its semi-casual environment and friendly, neighborhood vibe. The atmosphere is fancier than at Next Door Spanish Cafe, but the cuisine is just as good, and the pricing is fair, despite the additional $.
The restaurant is highly recommended by its customers, who have given it an average rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 on Food Advisor. Customers have said the restaurant’s oysters are some of the best they’ve ever had, and they also love the friendly service and affordable prices. The restaurant’s menu features a variety of grilled options, the highlight of which is the perfectly grilled suckling pig with its distinctively crispy skin. Grilled octopus and seafood paella are two other dishes worthy of mention. But, for this blog, you have to get stuck into that dry-aged beef. It is sublime!!!
The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The wait staff is absolutely some of the very best you’ll experience anywhere in Singapore. There is a wide variety of wines and cocktails to choose from, all of which go wonderfully with the restaurant’s authentic Spanish fare.
In sum, Asador is an excellent choice for people seeking traditional Spanish fare in a warm and welcoming setting. It’s well worth your time due to the tasty food, and friendly service.

What does Asador Joo Chiat have to say about themselves?
Excellence takes time Our signature Spain’s most known city for Cochinillo is Segovia—where restaurants have been preparing the same dish for decades. The iconic tradition is to cut the Suckling Pig on a side table with a plate, next to the guests, to prove that the meat is so tender that you don’t need a knife at all. Our Suckling Pig comes from the same region and we brine it to ensure it gets perfect seasoning. The process of cooking in our handmade stone oven results in the golden and crispy finishing that everyone has grown to love.

Featherblade Steak with Smoked Salt 300g @ $24
Head to The Feather Blade, a hipster joint on Amoy Street, for a more relaxed steak fix. A 200g flat iron steak cooked medium-rare and served with house-made chimichurri sauce is their signature meal, and it is CHEAP. Believe me, it is SO CHEAP. The Feather Blade steak is so famous that it’s the only item on the menu, but it’s delicious enough to keep customers returning for more. Arrive early because they don’t accept reservations and the place fills up quickly.
Tanjong Pagar Road in Singapore is home to a steakhouse called The Feather Blade. The flat iron steak cut is a very lean cut of steak that they sell. The steak at The Feather Blade is “excellent,” according to one Tripadvisor reviewer. Another Yelp reviewer agreed that the menu is uncomplicated and that the prices are fair.
As I have said before flat iron steak, hanger steak, or butcher’s cut is a fabulous piece of meat. Usually ignored as everyone thinks a filet mignon, or sirloin is bound to be better. Think again. Especially when it is TWENTY-FOUR DOLLARS only.
What does The Feather Blade have to say about themselves? (not a lot actually)...

Yakizen Izakaya Japanese Restaurant
Yakizen Izakaya Japanese Restaurant is managed and owned by some very nice people that Wifey knows from her job. We were chatting about food one day and they mentioned they owned this cool Japanese place down Boat Quay. Say no more, we’re going to visit.
And I am glad we did. It really was good food. It’s up there with our family favourites for Izakaya, like IZA and Mikawa at Siglap, so great job there Yakizen Izakaya Japanese Restaurant. I had a big food critic with me, AKA Jude Jude. He loves his Izakaya and Yakatori, even calling Mikawa, Chicken Bum because of his favourite Bonjiri.
They’re at a wonderful location on Lor Telok, just off Circular Road and 5 minute’s walk from Boat Quay. We’d been shopping at Plaza Singapura on Orchard Road, grabbed a cab to Boat Quay for a couple of beers on the river, then walked around to Yakizen Izakaya Japanese Restaurant.
It really reminds me of my time in Japan. You see Izakaya everywhere, packed with businessmen grabbing a few beers before boarding the train home.

Bar-Roque by Chef Stefan Istel
Our mate Chef Stephane Istel is at the helm of this cracking steakhouse and grill restaurant. In the center of Singapore, you’ll find the great restaurant Bar-Roque Grill, which is known for its innovative eating area inspired by the Baroque era and its in-house roasted artisanal dishes. The menu of Bar-Roque Grill is influenced by French cooking and serves roasted artisanal items made right there in the restaurant.

Fat Cow
Due to the $$$ of this place, I am delighted that Fat Cow is not one of the Steak restaurants near me. I would be bankrupt in a matter of weeks.
The opulent meat service and vintage wine list at Singapore’s Fat Cow, a Japanese-inspired atelier, guarantee a one-of-a-kind meal.
Fat Cow is a world-famous eatery that sources its Wagyu beef exclusively from the best farmers in Japan. The list is like a hall-of-Wagyu-steak-fame. The restaurant’s main goal is to provide diners with an exceptional one-of-a-kind experience.
The restaurant has a minimalistic, sophisticated aesthetic with the intention of providing fooda private and relaxed dining experience.
Service
The staff at Fat Cow did a fantastic job. The wait staff was very well-versed in the offerings and had great suggestions for both food and drink. Everything was provided quickly, and the wait staff was attentive during our lunch there.
Food and Menu
The Japanese-influenced dishes at Fat Cow are paired with premium Wagyu beef from trusted farms throughout Japan.
Pricing
Although Fat Cow‘s pricing is way more than average, the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost. Just make this your ‘special occasion place. We went for Father’s Day lunch with 8 of us and it was well over $1,500. Ouch!
Conclusion
Eat at Fat Cow, because it is an absolute must for carnivores. Everything at this restaurant was designed with one goal in mind: to make your meal here as memorable as possible. Yun Ga Korean BBQ Katong V
Now you won’t get this on many other food blogs about the best steak in SG. I bet. Because it is uncooked. But, there is a method in my madness because this truly is some of the very best Japanese Wagyu Steak and Japanese Iberico Pork that you’ll come across on Red Dot, at super-affordable prices. And, hey, the bonus is you can cook it to your own doneness, and it comes with the usual plethora of Yun Ga Korean BBQ accompaniment dishes. It is stellar!!!
This Wagyu steak is literally melt-in-your-mouth good. I usually give it a season with the salt mix and melt down some fat in the Korean BBQ to fry this off and add more flavour (like it needs it). Minute or so on each side it tops all you’ll need, then a quick cut with the scissors to bite-sized pieces. You can further jazz this up with Korean fermented bean sauces, some fried garlic, or even Kimchi. It is a knockout. We go here very frequently for some of the best steak in Singapore.
At Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant in Singapore, you can get a variety of Korean BBQ foods for a reasonable price. The restaurant has a reputation for excellent service and reasonable prices, especially for the Japanese Wagyu Steak.
Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ has a comfortable and welcoming ambiance thanks to its warm lighting and understated design. It’s quite minimalistic, but when you smell those meats a grilling you can’t wait to be seated.
The menu at Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant includes a variety of Korean BBQ options at reasonable costs. Try the crispy and savoury Kimchi Pancake, and Beef Bulgogi. A massive assortment of pickled veggies, kimchi, and steamed rice were excellent accompaniments to the main dish. 2for 1 drinks also make this place rather appealing to the wallet.
Pricing
The pricing at Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant is fair and reasonable considering the high standard of the restaurant’s food and service. Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant has an average per-person price of $40. We always max out on the steamed pig trotter, Japanese Wagyu, and the Japanese Iberico pork offerings. So, perhaps a little more like $50-60 per head. But, worth every cent.
Conclusion
I tell you, for the best Korean BBQ in Singapore, you can’t go wrong with Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional and unparalleled, hence we go once a month. It really is a top-drawer. Yun Ga Traditional Korean BBQ Restaurant is an excellent choice if you’re searching for a place to eat a reasonably priced yet still wonderful lunch or dinner of Korean barbecue.

The Burning Oak at Bedok Marketplace
The breaking news in 2023 for The Burning Oak at Bedok Marketplace is that there is to be a fresh and exciting menu. These guys are in a hawker but serve up some of the best steaks in SG that you’ll ever have. It is quite amazing to be dining on Iberico Pork Cheeks, Wagyu, and Foie Gras in a hawker, and these guys have nailed it!!!
But, in 2023 there is to be a new, more affordable selection, without sacrificing quality. This will be available on the 14th of February. It feels like they are being forced back to more hawker-style roots, due to the rising cost of living on Red Dot. I totally get that.
The guys at The Burning Oak at Bedok Marketplace have come to terms with the fact that not everyone can afford the $12-$28 price range typically found at food courts in order to adapt to modern times. They have worked hard to keep the rates low, but a shift in the market necessitated a menu change.
Additional features and personalization options are being considered. Favorite products like truffle beef, salmon, and chicken can be added to rice bowls. Enjoy three delicious new sauces in addition to the do-it-yourself beef platters.
The rising cost of Wagyu has forced them to eliminate it from the menu. This may come as a surprise. However, in its stead, they have carefully selected and rigorously tested a high-quality striploin steak, and they are certain it will do justice to its illustrious ancestor.
Having eaten here many many times due to their consistent quality of product, cooking, and plating I trust that they will indeed ‘get it right’ at The Burning Oak at Bedok Marketplace. I can’t wait now to get myself down there to try this new Striploin Steak offering. Plus pop to their neighborhood bar and wash that down with a lovely pint of Guinness, now there’s a unique hawker experience for you!!!

CHARCOAL GRILLED STEAKS Eat the ENTIRE COW at Stirling Steaks! Stirling Steaks is a Singapore-based steakhouse that offers a unique dining experience that combines charcoal grilled steaks and outstanding service. The restaurant is widely popular among Singaporeans, having been established since 2014. You can eat the ENTIRE COW at Stirling Steaks. We serve 10 types of steak cuts, one of the most in any steakhouse. They include tomahawk, ribeye, striploin, T-bone, and other steak cuts. Our steaks have a smoky flavoured aroma as we slow grill our steaks over traditional CHARCOAL. Traditional charcoal-grill ensure meat juices are retained better, thereby giving customers a satisfying gastronomical experience. The delicious steaks are served with the popular “Stirling Sauce”, home-made from fresh herbs, and slow brewed over a long period of time. Our menu prices are reasonable, ranging from the $9.9 value steak meal to the highly popular Combo Special and Steak Buffet. We offer a selection of other meats, salads, and sides, ensuring there is something for everyone. The restaurant is named after “Stirling Road”, where the founder, Mr Elwyn Chan, grew up. Mr Chan is a highly successful hedge fund manager. He set up Stirling Steaks to share his craving for good quality steaks with friends.

ChillaxBBQ
My wife and kids say I cook the best steak in Singapore. I’d love to hold that podium position of #1 Steak Singapore, and it’s Wagyu Tomahawk steak that I cook too. The holy trinity. ChillaxBBQ is my little sideline cooking fine-dining BBQs and set-course meals at customers’ houses. Steak and Tomahawk steak is always one of the more popular asks when we create the menus together.
We practice reverse searing as THE technique for cooking these beautiful Tomahawk steaks. It’s easy, but the very best way to cook these steaks. We have achieved 5* out of 5* consistently, so something must be right.
Get the Tomahawk steak out of the fridge and bring it to room temperature (important to cook evenly). Season all over with sea salt and cracked black pepper (Kampot pepper if you have it). Set the oven to 90 degrees centigrade and cook for circa 90 minutes (depending on weight). Medium-rare steak temp is 57 degrees Centigrade. So measure to that. Rest for 5 minutes and then heat a skillet, or have your BBQ coals good to go and sear that bad-boy until you get a nice crust. Carve and then sprinkle with a little more sea salt and Kampot black pepper.
This will cook your Tomahawk steak to a Pink2Pink Perfection. Check the photo below. That’s what you want, rght there!

Meathouse by 18 Chefs
Halal steak Singapore at its best. Originally owned by my Facebook BFF, Chef Benny Se Teo, also a mate of KF Seetoh, in turn, mates with Anthony Bourdain. The first Eighteen Chefs location was opened in 2007 at Eastpoint Mall by Benny Se Teo, an ex-offender and former drug addict who was having trouble finding work. He learned about the Fifteen Foundation while interning with Jamie Oliver. The rest is history. Chef Benny is now retired.
What amazes me about The Meathouse by 18Chefs is the concept by 18 Chefs. Yes, you should have a read on the amazing Chef Teo, or maybe Google search and watch one of his Ted Talks. Mr. Oliver’s 15 helped Chef Teo. And now he is an acclaimed Chef, yes, buy his book as it is BRILLIANT. His crew is exceptional, especially when you appreciate some of the guy’s backgrounds.
The food is seriously off the charts and sits up there with the best of the best in my humble reckonings. This makes it even more of a stand-out for me. Today we ate in a hustle and bustle of a local shopping centre, in a no-frills restaurant, with food that is beating many silver service food establishments hands down some of the best steak in SG.

Best Steak Cuts
Tomahawk Steak:
Tomahawk steak is a cut of beef taken from the cow’s rib region. It’s a thicker and larger variant of the ribeye steak, with the bone extending from the rib to give it a distinct tomahawk shape. Tomahawk steak is THE BOMB, and my personal favourite, especially when you want to WOW the dining crowd.
It is best to let a tomahawk steak come to room temperature before seasoning well with sea salt and cracked black Kampot pepper and cooking. Grilling is a popular technique in which the steak is cooked indirectly over low heat for a few minutes on each side before being seared over high heat for a few minutes on each side to produce a charred crust. After that, take the steak from the heat and set it aside for a few minutes before serving. Called resting, it allows the juices to settle back into the meat, making it super juicy.
You can also call this method reverse-searing, my absolutely all-time favourite way of cooking Tomahawk steak.
The internal temperature of the steak should be monitored to ensure that it achieves the desired level of doneness, which for a tomahawk steak is typically medium-rare. Medium rare steak temp is 55-60 degrees Centigrade.

Ribeye:
A ribeye steak is a cut of meat from the steer’s rib section. It’s enriched by a layer of fat that surrounds the tender “eye” that divides the two muscles that make it up. Ribeye steaks can be boneless or bone-in, which means they contain a portion of rib bone; bone-in ribeyes are sometimes referred to as “rib steaks”.
When preparing a ribeye steak, it is best to season both sides with salt and cracked black pepper and leave it at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking. If you have Kampot black pepper, use it.
It’s also a good idea to pat dry with paper napkins and season with more salt and pepper. Depending on personal taste, ribeye steaks can be cooked in a variety of ways, including reverse-searing (my favourite), pan-searing, grilling, or broiling. The bone-in ribeye steak contributes flavour and moisture. It’s worth noting that the thickness of the steak can influence the amount of time and temperature needed to accomplish the desired doneness.
Medium rare steak temp is 55-60 degrees Centigrade.
Filet Mignon:
A filet mignon is a tender and lean cut of beef taken from the smaller end of the tenderloin or psoas major muscle. Filet Mignon is frequently presented as a round cut taken from the tenderloin’s thinner end and is regarded as one of the most desirable and costly steak cuts.
Because filet mignon has less marbling than other steak cuts, it is essential not to overcook it. Using a meat thermometer, rare is 120°F with a cool to warm red center and ideal steak texture, and medium-rare is 130°F with a warm red center and perfect steak texture. The filet mignon should be seasoned with salt and pepper on both sides and cooked in a variety of ways, including searing in a skillet or baking.
Medium rare steak temp is 55-60 degrees Centigrade.
It should be noted that filet mignon can also be found in Porterhouse and T-bone steaks. Filet mignon slices are typically 1 to 2 inches thick and 2 to 3 inches in diameter on the market.
New York Strip:
New York strip steak is a cut of beef steak from a cow’s short loin, also known as a strip steak. It is made up of a muscle called the longissimus, which does little labor and thus produces tender meat, though not as tender as the nearby psoas major or tenderloin. Unlike tenderloin, the longissimus is a large muscle that can be cut into larger sections.
A common technique for cooking New York strip steak is to sear the steaks in a skillet over high heat. Heat the pan until it’s smoking hot, then add the steaks and cook for 1 minute per side, without moving them. Finish the sirloin in the oven at 200°C for 6-8 minutes, or until done to preference.
Grilling is another common way to prepare strip steak. Preheat your grill to high heat, then position the steaks on a diagonal on the grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes for medium-rare, then flip 45 degrees and grill for another 2-3 minutes. Finish grilling the steaks until done to your liking, flipping them over, and repeating the procedure. That’s how you get that restaurant-like cross-cross of searing on the steak.
Medium rare steak temp is 55-60 degrees Centigrade.
Hanger Steak AKA Skirt Steak:
Hanger steak is a cut of beef from the plate, which is the animal’s upper belly. Hanger steak is made up of a pair of muscles that form a V shape and dangle just below the animal’s diaphragm, hence the name. Despite the presence of an inedible membrane running down the center, hanger steak is frequently the tenderest cut of flesh.
Butchers used to retain it for themselves rather than sell it because the general public thought it was a rough cut of meat, despite the fact that it is one of the most tender. It was coined the Butcher’s Cut.
In Europe, especially in French bistros, hanger steak is popular. For the best taste and tenderness, it should be grilled or pan-seared and served rare to medium-rare with just sea salt and cracked black pepper. Hanger steak is renowned for its rich, beefy flavor and can be a tasty and tender cut of meat.
