How can I find a Gluten Free Cake that is right for me?

When it comes to gluten free cakes, there are not a lot of options to choose from especially when buying from a local Patisserie. Whether you just want to avoid gluten for health reasons or for a family member to celebrate a special occasion, you’ll need to find a cake that fits your needs.

Some cakes are specifically designed as gluten-free, meaning they don’t contain any wheat or barley. Others are made with ingredients like rice flour or tapioca starch that can be replaced with gluten free alternatives

Our team is dedicated to helping you find the best gluten free cakes for you! We searched high and low for the best gluten free cakes in town, and we are happy to share this gluten free cake Patisserie with you.

Best Gluten free cakes in Singapore

Patisserie Glacé was established in 2008 in Singapore with the intention of importing the finest pastries from Japan, including Japanese cakes, pies, cookies, and tarts. The cake making is headed up by Chef Tomoko.

Patisserie Glacé

Chef Tomoko and the rest of her team have been directly and passionately engaged in the process of ensuring that all of the items at Patisserie Glacé have the same flavour as they would in Japan ever since the patisserie first opened its doors. The style of Glacé's pastries is consistent with her fundamental convictions, which are that the components must be of the greatest possible quality and include no preservatives; they are creations that a mother would give to her kid.

Glacé’s philosophy of serving products largely decorated with fruit has found favour with the CBD office workers since its inception. Its creations have graced birthdays, weddings, even for Mr Lee’s birthday!

Gluten-Free Strawberry Decor Cake Plated
Now admittedly we could have done a better job with the plating up of this slice of cake and even touched up the strawberry.

Chocolate Cake Anyone?

Patisserie Glacé Gluten-Free Cake Choco
Look at the sheen on that ganache? Two mini macaroons for everyone to fight over!
Gluten-Free Cake Choco Rice Flour Sponge sandwiches
Again with the vertical layering of the sponge only this time its piped with chocolate and cream!
Gluten-Free Cake Choco Plated
The Gluten Free Choco was heavier than the strawberry but we guess that from the chocolate layering.

The Gluten Free Choco was a big hit with the ladies! It also was not overly sweet.

Do they even look like gluten free cakes? They certainly didn’t taste gluten free!

Gluten-Free Cake Choco and Gluten-Free Strawberry Decor Cake

When Patisserie Glacé delivered two gluten free cakes, we were shocked but boy was that the best decision they made because then we really had to review in a battle off between the two gluten free cakes, it set tongues wagging, so who was the ultimate champion out of these two cakes on the Ultimate Cake Off!?

Jude Jude, who says you can’t have your cake and eat it?

Patisserie Glacé the Taste Test

I think both of these cakes should be called head exploding cakes because they are so good. My favourite one was the strawberry and vanilla cake because I really liked the strawberry jello pieces and I love vanilla too.

So light and super moist. I really like it because it is not so sweet, but such a delicious chocolate almost like truffle with like a caramelised coffee overtone. The strawberry vanilla cake comes with like a layered jelly in the inside but made from fresh strawberries. It is just divine.

I was impressed even by the packaging, and then when I opened the box and saw these two stunners, I knew we were onto something special. Incredibly, these are gluten free cakes. Perhaps that's why they are so light, almost a fluffy sponge so not filling at all. Yes, I reckon you could eat a whole one to yourself. I loved the chocolate one because it was quite decadent. Like my wifey said, not sweet just super savoury. And then POW the strawberries hit you with a wonderful citrus hit that is balanced by the layers of delicious vanilla cream. Glace proves that actually you can have your cake and eat it and eat A LOT IF IT!!!

We had some guests over for the evening by chance and not one of them thought they were gluten free cakes! Two of them took the website for future needs as they have family and friend that are gluten intolerant. The ladies all loved the chocolate version, but my personal preference was the strawberry as it was so light and rich. The strawberries were fresh and so sweet.

In the end the Gluten free Cake Choco stole the show!

Congratulations to the crew at Patisserie Glacé for making such incredible gluten free cakes, you really can’t tell the difference! **We are not saying that just because we got paid in cake!**

As you can see the Gluten free cakes passed the Taste Test with flying colours! If anyone else wants to send us cakes feel free to get in touch!
