Doong Ji, Korean Restaurant, East Coast

With nothing to do this day, we were wandering about on East Coast Road. It was time for lunch, and I have Jude the choice of about 4 restaurants across the road. He chose Doong Ji, Korean Restaurant, East Coast. Good choice Baby Jude. Great food at very reasonable prices, compared to the usual Korean price range. It’s worth a pop this place. Very delicious.

What did we eat today?

Griddled sweetcorn with cheese – OMG!!!

This was nuts. Would you ever have thought to mix sweetcorn and cheese, and then stick it in the oven on a griddle plate? Nope, me neither, but boy it works. This comes out sizzling, and then you get that cheese pizza experience as you eat. Stingy, melted cheese with sweet sweetcorn. Yummo!

Kimchi soup with pork – bum burner time!

Doong Ji, Korean Restaurant, East Coast you are up there with the best for your Kimchi soup. This was a cracker. Bloody spicy it has to be said, but that was one of its endearing features. Absolutely a knock-out soup. I would have this again and again!!!

Grilled mackerel for Mary. Very fresh. Perfect!!!

Yep my Mary loved this dish. Baked mackerel, with a little squeeze of lemon. My Mary is picky when it comes to fish, and she commented on how good this was because the fish was so very fresh. Well done Doong Ji, Korean Restaurant, East Coast. You impressed the wife!!!

Amy’s crispy deep fried chicken.

Jude and Amy went with Korean deep fried chicken. A delicious seasoned crumb, and fried to perfection with very moist chicken and no oiliness. This was really good, and it did not take too long for the kids to devour this believe me.

So there you have it folks, a short review on Doong Ji, Korean Restaurant, East Coast. Get yourself along to 222 East Coast Road, just after Mel’s on the corner of Still Road. That kimchi soup was a belter and if you like fish, Mary absolutely endorses the mackerel – ENJOY!!!
