Best Beautiful Places in the Philippines Contents

The Philippines is a stunning country in so many ways from its people, food, culture, and beautiful scenery. Located in Southeast Asia, with neighbours of Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and so on it has so many tourist spots in the Philippines.

It has so many beautiful places, too many Best Beautiful Places in the Philippines in fact, to detail in one review. It is an archipelago consisting of more than 7,000 islands, which are grouped into three main geographical areas: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao – now that is a lot of Filipino places.

Klook.com

The Philippines travel update is that this land of beautiful people is fully open for visitors again. There is a real mix of cultures in the Philippines. In the Philippines, East and West really do meet. The people are from Indonesian and Malay backgrounds. There are also parts that are Chinese and Spanish. Filipinos, or people of the Philippines, look and live in a way that is a unique mix of East and West. This is because of the history of American rule and contact with merchants and traders.

In other blogs about the best beautiful places in the Philippines or fun things to do in the Philippines, you’ll almost certainly hear about Pangasinan, Baguio, Batangas, Quezon City, Sinulog Festival, Pampanga, Palawan, San Juan, Davao City, Panagbenga Festival and Baguio City. Well, we just gave you those and much, much more.

18 Best Beautiful Places in the Philippines

Filipinos are known all over Southeast Asia for their hospitality, which is a trait they all have. People who are so friendly and happy to have Westerners around are hard to find. Filipinos are emotional and passionate about life in a way that seems more Latin than Asian. This may be because they have a long history with Spain. Now is the perfect time for that Philippines travel, and we’ll show you why with the most beautiful Philippines travel pictures.

It has three major island regional places in the Philippines – Luzon is in the north, Mindanao is in the south, and Visayas is in the centre (also where my house is) – and is blessed with picturesque landscapes, beautiful places, and natural wonders such as active volcanoes, extreme weather, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. This country is renowned as one for the beautiful views from every corner.

Map of the Philippines: best beautiful places in the Philippines

Read on to discover the best beautiful places in the Philippines and incredibly fun things to do in the Philippines at Pangasinan, Baguio, Batangas, Quezon City, Sinulog Festival, Pampanga, Palawan, San Juan, Davao City, Panagbenga Festival and Baguio City.

The country has a tropical climate and is known for its beautiful beaches, rich culture, biodiversity, super-friendly people, and just brilliant food. On the latter, ignore the myth that Filipino food is ‘boring’. With Spanish and Portuguese influence for centuries, how can the food be boring? It is far from it, take it from me. It is a popular destination for tourists, who come to enjoy its many activities, such as swimming, snorkelling, diving, and island hopping.

The Philippines has a population of over 108 million people and the official language is Filipino, but with many variants. My wife’s local language for example is Tagalog. It’s a bit like Scouse, Jordie, and cockney in the United Kingdom. I am so very fortunate to have my house on the island of Panglao, Bohol, the Philippines. It is truly paradise found and has a beautiful view.

The Filipinos are also renowned for loving a party, and I have been at a few myself personally. They’ll celebrate any Saint, animal, vegetable, or fruit that has a positive impact on their lives and culture.

With 104 million people spread out over 7,641 islands, there’s bound to be a huge party going on somewhere at any given time. It really is MORE fun in the Philippines.

We’ll help you with that fun, by giving up multiple discount offerings from our mates at Klook Philippines: nice to see the best beautiful places in the Philippines at discount prices…

We took it upon ourselves to write up a blog to share with you 14 exciting Filipino festivals. These are your bucket-list tourist spots in the Philippines, believe me.

Whilst you’re there, we recommend you get into a Filipino Food Feeding Frenzy, and to help with that we have written up 40 Amazing Filipino Foods.

Philippine travel to Bohol, Panglao and Balicasag Islands

The island of Bohol is where my house is and is my most favourite of Phillipine places. We are now seeing a lot of Japanese, Taiwanese, and South Korean tourists, and investments, recently. Well, it does have beuatiful places to visit, and in my humble opinion the best tourist spot in the Philippines. They love the best-of-the-best snorkelling, beaches, and diving here. How could you not want to snorkel and dive here at Balicasag Island? It’s paradise and yes, ‘more fun in the Philippines’.

Bohol has some of the most unique landforms in the Philippines, with the infamous Chocolate Hills. Originally the sea bed, these volcanic mounds pepper the countryside at Danao. Beautiful little mounds (not quite mountains) that turn brown in the summer when the grass and vegetation ‘burn’, looking like chocolate.

Beautiful places in the Philippines

This beautiful coral atoll surrounded by topaz and aquamarine seas is Balicasag Island. About. 30-40 minute boat ride from most places on Panglao Island. This place is paradise. Especially if you love diving or snorkelling in the Philippines.

Once when we visited here we must have seen 5-6 pods of dolphins within 5’ of the boat, and 10 turtles in touching-distance munching on the sea grass as we snorkeled amongst them: now that is Best Beautiful Places in the Philippines.

Balicasag – Map of the Philippines

I am very fortunate to have a house in Panglao in the midst of the most amazing tourist spots in the Philippines. I am considering myself a bit of an authority on the subject when talking about the best tourist spot in Philippines, and where to get a beautiful view.

Yes, Bohol is one of our chosen 18 Best Beautiful Places in the Philippines.

The food is incredible, read our 40 unbelievable Filipino foods to set you on your Filipino food adventures when you visit. In that blog we give you Filipino food names and pictures to make it easy, as most Filipino restaurants use picture-based menus. Little did I know as well that Klook Philippines operate here so I could have booked my island-hopping fun through them.

Where to stay in Boracay?

There are many options for accommodation in Boracay, ranging from budget guesthouses to luxury resorts you are spoilt for Phillipine places. The most popular area for tourists is along White Beach, which has a wide variety of hotels, resorts, and guesthouses to choose from. There are seriously, loads. Some popular options include:

We have a big family, hey we’re half-Filipino. So, when we visited Boracay we decided to stay at more of a family suite rather than booking multiple hotel rooms and chose Karuna Suites, Boracay. This was on the other side of the island from the main beach. It was a little awkward getting to the main action and eating spots, but it was super-nice as you’ll see from our full review here; Karuna Suites, Boracay.

If you want to stay somewhere more peaceful and quiet, you can also consider staying in the neighbouring areas of Bulabog Beach or Puka Shell Beach, which are less crowded and have a more laid-back atmosphere.

How to get to Boracay?

To get to Boracay, you will first need to fly to the nearest airport, which is Kalibo International Airport. From there, you can take a shuttle bus or van to Caticlan Jetty Port, which is the gateway to the island of Boracay. At the port, you then take a boat to the island.

Once on Boracay, you can take a tricycle (a motorized rickshaw) to your hotel or resort. Alternatively, you can also fly directly to Caticlan Airport, which is closer to Boracay but has fewer flight options. It’s very ‘trains, planes and automobiles’. Quite the adventure actually.

Cebu

Cebu – Cebu is a province in the Philippines that consists of a main island of the same name and several smaller surrounding islands like Mactan, where the airport is. It is located in the central part of the country, east of the island of Negros and West of the island of Leyte. Cebu City, the capital of the province, is the second-largest city in the Philippines and is a major economic and cultural centre in the region. It is also a major tourist destination in the Philippines.

The province is, yet again, known for its beautiful beaches and diving spots, as well as its historical and cultural landmarks, including the Basilica del Santo Niño and the Magellan’s Cross. It is also a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking and rafting. We constantly used it for a bounce through from Singapore to Cebu airport and then a fast ferry to Bohol.

I have bounced through Cebu many times on the way to Bohol via the Ferry Port. Usually, we land, taxi to Radisson Blu for one night, and get up early to catch the 1st fast-ferry to Tagbilaran, Bohol. Because of that, I have seen nothing of Cebu. Especially when I now read my review below, I have the feeling I need to seriously explore Cebu more.

For more affordable options, you can check out hotels such as the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Cebu Parklane International Hotel, or Citadines Cebu City.

We have stayed before at the Radisson Blu by the Port which was great value, plus ideal if you’re going to catch a ferry down to Bohol (which I highly recommend). We have also stayed at two other incredible hotels on Mactan Island, namely The Movenpick Mactan Island (sadly she got badly smashed by the tornados of 2021), and Plantation Bay Resort (that was nice, but sadly was going through renovations of one of the man-made lakes. It was drained).

There are also many guesthouses, hostels, and Airbnb rentals (now open again post Covid calming) available in the area. To find the best option for you, it’s a good idea to do some research and compare prices and reviews. There really is just so much on offer.

There are also ferry services that operate between Cebu and other nearby islands, so you can also consider taking a ferry to reach the island. That is exactly what we have been doing for years, back and forth to Bohol.

You can check with your airline or travel agent for more information about flights to Cebu and available transportation options, or just buy fast-ferry tickets at the port. If you are tall,

I recommend you bite the bullet and get business class, but use Klook Philippines to get a discount off that.
