Changi Beach, Go-Karts, Remote Controls, Skateboards, Scooters & Obaachan

Changi Beach, Go-Karts, Remote Controls, Skateboards, Scooters & Obaachan was our destination today. After Wifey and I had had that lovely lunch the other day we thought this would be an ideal family outing and something new for Obaachan. And it was a cracking afternoon, absolutely cracking. Great family fun. Wonderful food again. Beautifully sunny and breezy. Chatting, grazing, eating and relaxing. It is such a quality joint folks. Get yourself to The Sea Grill @ Changi Beach and seriously Chillax.

Changi Beach, Go-Karts, Remote Controls, Skateboards, Scooters & Obaachan as such fun today. As you can see from the title and from the video we brought fun things along with us. Just add children. We had scooters, skateboards and remote control cars with us. We also rented go-karts from the place next door to the restaurant. Quality. We just sat sipping on cool beverages whilst watching the kids go crazy. It really was such a lovely afternoon. HIGHLY recommended family locale.

United Colours of Benetton + Milo today too. Happy families. I love it!

Not a bad little view for our family lunch today. Changi Beach, Pulau Ubin, Malaysia and other Singaporean outlying islands. It is always super breezy here, so it is very cool with low humidity. You could be sat on any beach on any tropical island. It’s bliss.

We are here for lunch. So let’s show off some of the food. All were new dishes for us today.

#1 get stuck into the Mushroom Soup. He said it was really good. I didn’t try but will say that it looks intensely flavourful with the dark colour of it.

This is the Signature Mixed Grill. Hell yes! 2 of those please my good man. This was seriously very good. Meats cooked to perfection, medium-rare. Super juicy. Well seasoned. Just delicious. You get a stunner of a lamb chop, a Ribeye steak, a beautifully charred boneless chicken leg, an off-the-charts Chicken Bratwurst and a sunny side on the top. Yeah this rocks!

He is such a Carnivore Cave Boy. This is always a good sign in my reckoning of the food when your 6 y-year-old wants to munch on the bone. Nicely done Jude Jude.

Damn, I wish I liked seafood. How beautiful is this dish and the plating WOW!!! I just squeezed the lemon over for the awaiting family. An absolute stunner, and the ooohs and aaahs from family were enough to confirm this was a winner. Every single item on the platter was devoured with nothing but great positive feedback. It’s a perfect family lunch dish. Throw her in the middle and let the family graze. Very ChillaxBBQ stylee in fact… This is The Sea Grill‘s Seafood Platter. This consists of Japanese Scallops, King Prawns, Grilled Snapper, Squid, and Clam Broth. This gets served with a Lemon Mayo with Basil Oil. This, folks, is die die must try. It’s quality!!!

The Fish and Chips was quality too. Super crunchy and non-oily batter over some super-light snapper fillets. It’s just pure quality fish and chips and I even had a few goes at this. The boy from Margate escaped me for a while.

When I said family day out, I meant family. BFF, Milo came with us and he had a ball. Yes, it is pooch-friendly at The Sea Grill, Changi Beach. In fact, he didn’t have his lead on the whole time at the beach. He just wandered around and came and sat with us when he wanted some water, food or cuddles. We love our Milo.

I actually think at times he thought he was a member of staff. Well wearing his beach shirt #1. He’d greet new diners at the front desk and he would walk with them to their table. Whilst all along have cuddles from them as his tip. What a great job for the pooch.

Next up, post-lunch, it’s action time. I rented a couple of go-karts along Changi Beach for the gang to use some of the Coke Float energy up. Good job Dad! Off they went. The video is more fun than the stills though, so scroll up to watch that one.
Go Karts Changi Beach
I promise you this was just one time. He really was doing it himself all the time. Again check the video. This is no Boys to Men photo for the front of the Straits Times. Helper is seen pushing a child to school to save employer bus-fare. No, no. no haha. BeBe was just giving him a fast nudge cos he wanted to go fast, I was doing it the other way right after this when we went to the climbing frames and swings.

Milo having his onboarding interview from the manager to officially become one of The Sea Grill staff. He passed the interview and starts next Wednesday.
Pooch
Tough like being a pooch where everyone loves you and wants to give hugs.
Durian Creme Brulee
Kids come back sweating and hot, so time for some dessert. I spot Creme Brulee on the menu so order that for sharing with Wifey, and one for #1. I missed on the menu the additional word and got tucked in and then had to stop after 2nd mouthful and take an appraisement. WTF is in there? It was Cempedak Creme Brulee. AKA Jack Fruit, AKA a cousin of Durian. And it is STELLAR. This really is a must-try. Get your Singapore game face on and crack into this. What a wonderful savoury dessert. WINNER!!!
Wifey goes for a wander
Wifey goes for a wander along Changi Beach. She either needed some ‘me-time’ or was going for a sneaky fart…
Jude Jude going bonkers up a tree
Last few snaps now of the day, with Jude Jude going bonkers up a tree. Hence us always calling him Monkey.
Tree Climbing
Yeah, look at him go…

I want to leave some last words from The Sea Grill at Changi Beach as this sum up the place so well, and obviously why we love it so too;

“The only place in Singapore where you can have an unobstructed view of the beautiful beach, along with planes taking off and landing. A place for Plane Spotters, Beach Hoppers and Stargazers! Our signature Desserts, Cempedak Crème Brûlée & Chocolate Lava Cake are a Must Try!”

We agree wholeheartedly with everything they say. Obachan said she had such a wonderful time, just so relaxing. Job done as a son-in-law. Tick in the box. Family Fun in the sun, Singapore style. I thank you!!!

We had such a lovely day at Changi Beach. We all came back sleepy, relaxed, full and a little sunburnt. It really was such a lovely day. But up next is dinner, so a mad dash home. It’s Thai-time for Obaachan now. Thanks to The Sea Grill at Changi Beach for a lovely afternoon for my family. The food was ACE. The staff were excellent. Every single one of us had such a relaxing foodie beachy time. I’ll say it again family and friends – this is a special long afternoon relax place here. It’s such a wonderful family afternoon. You’ll all have fun, I can guarantee that. You can’t help yourself not to. So get in a taxi and get your bum down here and – ENJOY!!!
