GB Pizza Co in Margate is just up there with the best. My brother and sister-in-law took me here tonight on a home visit, and boy did I walk out of there on a pizza high.
This is one of my first food reviews for a UK restaurant and what a way to start with GB Pizza Co. This comes with a high recommendation from Islifearecipe.net. It was just a wonderful dinner, in an uber-cool place, with cool toonz wafting, the most awesome staff, and kicking pizzas!!!
Jamie Oliver Pizza Competition Singapore
I pride myself on having some authority on pizza recommendations and reviewing as I have won a Jamie Oliver Pizza Competition.
I also pushed the boundaries of toppings, just like Chef Chan, making a Thai Laab Gai Salad Pizza. So, kindred spirits there for sure.
GB Pizza Co: such an inviting dining spot in Margate
It’s such an inviting place, you just feel the need to go in. That night GB Pizza Co was packed, and we sat through two sittings – so double busy. Too cold today to sit outside, but I can’t wait to come back in the Summer and have some slices and a cold beer.
Co-owners of GB Pizza Co:
Chef Chan and Ellis (who doesn’t like her photo being taken). #BeProud ladies as you have something amazing going on here.
GB Pizza Co uses an incredible variety and uniqueness of toppings. I experienced deliciousness throughout dinner that night. They also use nothing but the freshest of ingredients and ingredients that have been sourced locally. Adding all these elements together makes this dinner at GB Pizza Co, one of the best pizza experiences I have had in a long time.
A great selection of beers and wines are on offer, so very reasonably priced. My brother ordered a bottle of Pinot Gris at only: @ GBP 16
Talk about holding your balls to the fire… Here are my dough balls in Olivia getting baked off. I am falling more and more in love with GB Pizza Co. This place is foodie heavenly…
Garlic Butter Doughballs
Some of the best damn things I have ever eaten. These are so, so more-ish. They bake the doughball in Olivia, punch a hole in it, and then squirt in garlic butter that’s hand-made. Oh my goodness, I could have eaten these all night long: @ GBP 7
Garlic Bread.
Really nice. Not wow amazing, but really nice. We get to: ‘wow amazing’ very soon: @ GBP 6
Olives
Beautiful Olives with fresh local-sourced herbs, rosemary: and thyme I think: @ GBP 4.50
Hot Sauces
Sourced locally in Margate (that alone is amazing). From bottom and clockwise:
- Hot Sauce: a right bum-burner this one. This would be very welcome in Singapore.
- Chilli Jam: This will burn you a new one, phew. So delicious though when dipping with some of the pizza crust. This is a must-try.
- Garlic Aioli.
- Sriracha Honey: Goodness me. This one is killer with citrus overtones. I could have bathed in this. So very good.
The Meat Feat
Pepperoni, Chorizo, Nduja (if you’ve not heard of this it’s a spicy Spanish sausage that’s spreadable), Air-Dried Ham, Roasted Peppers, Chilli, Roquito Peppers, Aioli.
What a cracking pizza this was. No wonder my brother and sister-in-law order this one every time they come here. This is highly recommended and a must-try: @ GBP 14.50
Trealy Farm Chinese Five Spice Duck & Pork Salami Pizza
This is one of the WOW pizzas. I have never seen duck salami and how inventive this topping selection is. I absolutely loved this and will rave about it. Must-try, folks, must-try. What a cracking pizza.
With Fior di Latte, Pickled Cucumber, Spring Onions, Coriander, and Hoi Sin Sauce.
What a belter this is. You have to have this in your life at least once, folks: @ GBP 13
