Modala Beach Resort Bohol: Welcome to the world where paradise meets purpose in the most enchanting way possible. Today, ISLIDEARECIPE.net invites you to embark on a journey to a one-of-a-kind tropical escape that will leave you yearning for endless beach adventures and unforgettable moments in the Philippines.
Picture yourself strolling along a kilometer-long stretch of pristine white talcum-powder sand shoreline, the longest you’ll find in Panglao. The sun dances on the topaz crystal-clear waters, inviting you to take a dip and discover the vibrant marine life that calls this place home. But Modala Beach Resort Bohol is more than just a beautiful beach destination; it’s a haven where the modern and the tropical converge in perfect harmony.
Now, let me ask you a question. Are you ready to experience a Filipino beach vacation like no other, accompanied by genuine Filipino hospitality? If your answer is a resounding “yes,” then keep reading, my friend, because Modala Beach Resort Bohol has much more in store for you, as we found out on our recent three-night staycation on Panglao Island.
But let’s not stop there! Modala Beach Resort isn’t your ordinary getaway. It’s a paradise with a purpose, guided by six core values: empathy, excellence, collaboration, environmental responsibility, community, and fun: as we gleaned from their website. As a family-owned business, their mission goes beyond offering world-class experiences; they aim to uplift the local community of Panglao Island through sustainable tourism initiatives, providing new livelihood opportunities for the islanders.
Being a home-owner here and therefore an official Boholano, plus having one child doing F&B Management at a University in Bohol this is music to my ears. Community is everything, and believe me, you sense that in every single member of the crew here. They are proud to work here, and it shows.
Whether you’re seeking a staycation (as we were) workcation, a romantic escape, or a family adventure, Modala Beach Resort has something for everyone. From stunning ocean-view rooms like the Hayahay Room (which is what we booked for two nights), where you can soak up the natural light and enjoy the soothing ocean breeze, to a wide range of activities like freediving, island-hopping, kayaking, and sunset watching, there’s never a dull moment at this tropical paradise.
But that’s not all. Modala Beach Resort’s commitment to sustainability sets it apart, a topic also close to my heart. The entire resort was built without harming the island’s natural resources, making it an environmentally friendly haven that inspires guests to join the preservation efforts.
So, dear reader, if you’re seeking a beach vacation that blends luxury, sustainability and a touch of Filipino magic, Modala Beach Resort Bohol is your answer. It’s time to pack your bags, embrace the allure of Panglao Island, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Visit their website now and start your journey to paradise.
Modala Beach Resort: Precise
It is a beachfront resort located on Panglao Island in the Philippines. It is situated on the northwest side of the island, offering a picturesque view of a white sand beach spanning over 15,000 square meters. The resort features upscale amenities and services, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing vacation. Modala Beach Resort is known for its Tawhay Room, a unique accommodation option that guests can book. The resort offers various activities and attractions for visitors to enjoy during their stay.
If you’re planning a trip to Panglao, Bohol, Modala Beach Resort is a great choice for your accommodation needs. The resort provides many options for those seeking a memorable beach getaway without compromising on services and facilities. The resort has garnered positive reviews from guests who have appreciated its superior offerings: as confirmed by our review blog.
I have to say for what you are going to be paying they are seriously up there with the best of the best, if not the best of what we have experienced across Panglao in our many staycations here.
We booked this Ocean View Deluxe room and walked into TWO double beds, just the most incredible views from our awesome corner balcony that was HUGE.
Modala Beach Resort Bohol: Deluxe Double with Ocean View. I believe Modala Beach Resort calls these rooms:
Lantaw Ocean Room
We were also super-lucky to be given a corner unit, so the balcony was double-massive, as you can see fro our photos.
Stunning views from the balcony, as in STUNNING, and I don’t mean of my Wife (despite being equally stunning) I think the best views over the beautiful seas surrounding Bohol Island in any hotel we have stayed in, to date. From this balcony, we also got the truly beautiful sunrise and sunset. What a cracking room this is. Blessed!!!
And a monster bathroom, including a bathtub that would not fit in the photo… yes even with iPhone new lens, I could not get the entire bathroom in shot.
A very cool open infinity pool, 4′ deep all the way, so really safe for the family. Then, a second pool that is less shallow and under cover from the intense sun during the day. Two jacuzzi pools mix it up even more.
Very importantly for yours truly, yes there is a swim-up pool bar. Loving that little detail, thanks Modal Beach Resort Bohol. And again, just check those views. There are no better views from a pool on Panglao, in my humble opinion.
To give a balanced scorecard, I have one gripe. More shade is needed. When the sun is high there are really limited facilities around the pool to escape the sun. And believe me, that sun gets intense. So management at Modala Beach Resort: our family would request more shaded seating, lunging areas, and some fans to get some air movement. That would be the icing on the cake at this resort.
Alongside the pool are these really cool and quirky ‘sunken’ booths. Great fun for a family, or mates on the booze (as I saw last night). Here’s my Jude giving you a demonstration (yes it was really really sunny – again no shade).
Do NOT forget the beach at Modala Beach Resort Bohol: hey, hence the name I suppose. This is key. Talcum-powder white sand, and topaz blue seas that don’t seem to get deeper than your waist, no matter how far you walk out. It is so good, in fact, that it is worth not one photo, but THREE. Just look at that: PARADISE FOUND, and some!!!.
Mangaon Ta is the restaurant at the Modala Beach Resort, and is wonderful in the main, with an array of choices from local Filipino to Western.
You have your buffet breakfast in the same locale, and then can also dine for lunch and dinner. See below for some snaps of our brekkie plates, with a superb choice of fresh fruits, local Filipino cuisine, Western, and other Asian delights. Yeah, it’s good.
Feast on delectable dishes from around the world and Asia, washed down with awesome cocktails and other refreshing drinks (AKA SanMig Pilsen), all while taking in the cool atmosphere of the indoor and outdoor eating areas. The outdoor alfresco area is literally one step from the stunning beach, yeah it is special, very special.
There is also a ‘mall’ of sorts next door to the resort which has a number of restaurants. We have tried a couple. A few words of advice for you: ignore the one on the beachfront opposite the resort, Blue something. Just avoid it.
Keep watching ISLIFEARECIPE.net as a restaurant review of Mangaon Ta Restaurant at Modala Beach Resort will be coming soon.
Two plates of brekkie showing off some of the variety on offer. Jude Jude is first: Tocino, Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Beef Sausage, Fried Egg, and Crispy Bacon: with spicy vinegar and native sauce.
Wifey is second up with a more traditional Filipino cuisine breakfast for her: Dried Fish with Champorado (AKA chocolate rice): and, again that all-important Native Sauce for dipping.
Exciting excursions can be booked from the front desk of Modala Beach Resort Panglao
In this current staycation we have booked two Modala Beach Resort excursions:
- Dolphin Watching and Snorkeling at Virgin Ialand and Balicasag Island. This will set you back a meager PHP 4,500 for 4 pax, and PHP 500 for every additional.
- SunSet Cruise (apparently with tonnes more dolphins: we do this excursion on the day of posting this blog). This will cost you PHP 5,000, and PHP 500 for every additional.
At the time of writing this, my family has completed excursion #1 above, and it was WOW!!!
Keep watching ISLIFEARECIPE.net as a review of both our excursions at Modala Beach Resort will be coming soon (basically when I can get the videos off a memory stick from the GoPro we rented). They literally contain some of the most memorable moments of my life with dolphins, turtles, tropical fish, topaz seas, and white sandy beaches: off Balicasag Island and Virgin Island.
Modal Beach Resort also offer:
- Scuba Diving: for pros, and those learning,
- A gym,
- Yoga lessons,
- Zumba sessions, and so on.
What does Modala Beach Resort have to say about itself?
We are a family-owned business that was built to carry out the advocacy of the owners, which is to help out the locals of Panglao Island. As we all know, tourism is a great tool to give new livelihood to the islanders, and with Modala, they can attract guests from all over the world. The tropical paradise located in the dragon head of Panglao Island is also a green project for the owners. The whole resort was built without destroying the island's natural resources, making it an environmentally friendly accommodation that encourages people to help with the preservation of Mother Earth.

We absolutely loved it. It is much quieter than the other side of Panglao Island, and more akin to its neighbour: The Bellevue Resort, which we also love, and have stayed at many times in our journeys to the stunning Bohol Island.
Not so cram-packed as Alona Beach, with hordes of beach sellers pushing their wares on you as you try to relax. Therefore, Modala Beach Resort gives you a more personal boutique-hotel feel to your stay. Literally, you have the ‘Cheers’ moment everywhere you go, because all the staff know you and your families names, and will constantly interact to ensure you are having an amazing stay.
In fact, we loved it so much that we extended the stay and added another night.
Get in there Modala Beach Resort Bohol!!! It’s our BIG recommendation of where to stay in Bohol!!! To caveat: this is NOT a sponsored blog, this is our personal review of just a wonderful stay in a beautiful locale.
