Best Sunday Brunch @ The Ritz Carlton is my second blog about today, but now just about the food. You may remember the 1st one which was more about my BFF Dougy’s 60th Birthday celebrations? Well here is more about this amazing culinary experience on that day. An insanely good foodie experience, nay journey, into the world of incredible Singapore Hotel brunches.
When you have lived in Singapore a while and enjoy your 1st brunch you get to learn the brunch etiquette of free-flow booze and food. Basically, you fast for a few days before. Have an enema that morning. Have a sauna to dehydrate. Wear loose clothes. And then GET ON IT. And boy di we at what turned out to be one of the very Best Sunday Brunch @ The Ritz Carlton. The variety and the quality of the food are exceptional.
Absolutely you need to book as this place was JAMMED, imagine this at Christmas.

I will now share that experience in the form of photography. Here you go.
When we go for family food, we go HARD!!!As if by magic! And we are off! We have starved ourselves since brekkie. Enemas are done. Empty stomach needed to max out on the food and free-flow. A lesson all who live in Singapore learn very quickly. It’s brunch etiquette. And here we go. Food adventure starts with this Chef making Lobster Egg Benedict. Now there is a good start. No need for Dora and her bloody map, just act like Swiper.Yeah now that is a thing of beauty, it is not? Luckily he’s only got to make about 200 more of these.Don’t mind if I do. Yeah, it’s pig-out time. How about some lamb slow-braised in curry sauce (bottom middle), some Peking duck pancakes (left), and seared foie gras with BBQ duck and pine nuts. See what I mean re the variety and this is only hunting and gathering session #2.Jude and I go for a plate share. Amazing truffle mash potato to die for. White asparagus with citrus and just some amaze-balls sourdough with the very best ever French butter I have ever had. OK lose the asparagus as not cooked enough, and just have the mash with the buttered bread. Holy cow!The mash has a big fan. Check those flecks of fresh black truffle. OMG. This really was so very good. Amazing mash.“So amazing Dad, I think I will make a mashed potato sandwich with some Jamon,” said Jude. And he did!Be proud Chefs. You and the rest of the crew put on a stunning show today. That was food theatre at its very best.Meticulous prep and plating. Have a look at this. Everywhere you turn there is food, food and more food. I’ll say it again. So much variety on show today. WOW!It’s a work of art. Baked apples, ham and red currants. It’s #foodpornI waited in line for my wifey to get one of these little stunners. Freshly baked lobster with garlic and herb butter (I think). If she has another 10 of these we’ve broken even. Come on babes you can do it!I think they’re trying a ‘one-up’ on ChillaxBBQ. That is one impressive hunk of meat. As my Mary always says to me…#1 showing off yet another food station, with yet more variety and choice. This is indeed foodie heaven. Here’s that curried lamb on the shank that I showed you on my plate earlier. Why the elephant? Not entirely sure. A dish you’ll never forget? It’s a sushi station now. OMG wifey is going to be so so happy that the character from Finding Dorey is on offer.Hank looking rather fine today. Some of his best actings ever in fact. I’m just [ulling his leg. Well, he does have eight of them. The oyster station now. Again I encouraged Ollie and Wifey to have a bucket each of these. Back to the all-important breaking-even feeling when you think you hot the cost $ line and everything from that point on is ‘free’. HaHa.Yep, we’ll have two of the Snow Crabs please mate, and a kilo of them prawns to boot.Jude was snoozy, so Daddy made him a ‘pick-me-up’ dessert. I wonder what will happen? Answers on a postcard, because I am not hanging about to find out.I promise you this was the biggest cheese station I have ever seen. I took this because Strawberry Blonde was at the end. This whole row is all the different hard cheeses on offer today. Behind me is the same sized row of soft cheeses. It’s like 30 yards of cheese. OMG. I am in cheese heaven.Check my cheese clock out. This is 22 different soft kinds of cheese. See what I mean. I didn’t even make a dent in the cheese selection. An insane place for cheese lovers. Oh yeah, that’s me. Weeeeeeeee.
And that was that. A truly wonderful foodie experience today for my BFF Dougy’s birthday. Great choice matey, because that surely was Best Sunday Brunch @ The Ritz Carlton. I loved it, wifey loved it, the kids loved it. Washed down with copious amounts of free-flow beer and Champagne. Accompanied by superb service and cool-tunes from the in-house singer. What a cracker. Ritz Carlton be proud as that really was just exceptional. Best of the best. So folks get your bum here when the wallet will allow. Don’t forget to book as it was JAMMED. But get here. Pig out. Booze on, and – ENJOY!!!
