The Bellevue Resort Review Panglao: A Tropical Escape in Bohol
Bellevue Resort Review Philippines: If you’re dreaming of a luxurious retreat in Bohol, The Bellevue Resort Panglao offers the perfect setting for relaxation and indulgence. Situated on the serene Doljo Beach, this five-star resort is known for its pristine private beachfront, elegant accommodations, and top-notch service. With a reputation for blending modern luxury with the laid-back charm of island life, the resort has become a favourite destination for couples, families, and solo travellers seeking a tranquil getaway: oh yeah, and family Kennett AKA Islifearecipe.net
It hasn’t got the buzz, and hubbub of the Alona Beach strip, so you are a little of a captive audience. There are restaurants not far away on a tricycle or on your scooter, and Alona is only about 30 minutes away anyway. But just bear that in mind, you are more captive here. The resort is the resort, you can’t walk down the beach to other restaurants, disco pubs and/or entertainment as you can on Alona Beach.
But, that’s why you’re here. That’s why you chose the Bellevue Resort: to shut off, breathe in the clean air, get some sand between your toes, enjoy some delicious food, grab a cocktail, exhale and CHILLAX!!! Like seriously relax… There’s potentially no better resort on the island to do so.

Bellevue Hotel Review Resort Rooms and Accommodation
The Bellevue Resort offers a variety of rooms and suites designed to provide guests with maximum comfort and style. From the Deluxe Ocean View Rooms to the Suites, each accommodation boasts modern amenities such as plush bedding, flat-screen TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, and minibars.
Wifey and I doubled down as we had, just left our house with no water due to an outage, Jude was also with us, so we went large. We got a suite, and ended up with this beauty that even has a jacuzzi on the balcony: I am not kidding. Jude was straight in that after his dip in the pool. How wonderful. This is a beautiful room, and it came with a free 1st stock of minibar and a bottle of white wine: thank you!!!
What sets these rooms apart is their spaciousness and the attention to detail in their design—clean lines, earthy tones, and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of natural light. Many rooms also come with private balconies (ours was a double for the suite: where else are you gonna stick that jacuzzi? Sweet!!!) that offer stunning views of the topaz sea and white powdery sand, allowing guests to wake up to the gentle sound of waves: literally.
Guests have praised the impeccable cleanliness and thoughtful touches in their rooms. One TripAdvisor Review mentioned, “The room was spotless, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Waking up to the ocean view was an absolute highlight.” Another guest shared, “The bed was so comfortable, it felt like sleeping on a cloud.” Bellevue prioritizes the comfort and satisfaction of its guests, creating a space where guests can truly unwind: with staff that welcome and treat you like their own family.
I’ll confirm that we have personally had that experience every single time we have stayed here, and it is impeccable. That is such a good word I chose, as it sums the resort up perfectly: it is impeccably consistent here, and if there were a Michelin Star for Hotels, please give one to the Bellevue Resort, cos they deserve it.
Dining Options Bellevue Resort Review, Bohol
The dining experience at The Bellevue Resort is one of its standout features, and we had the good fortune this stay to meet the Executive Chef: Chef Gerwin Bailon. Chef #BeProud, seriously wonderful food hitting those plates, and consistently hitting those plates for the years that we have been coming for stays, dinners and lunches. Beautiful food from International to Filipino (I might even be stealing a few ideas for my resto coming to Panglao soon… sorry plagiarising and adapting haha…)
Chef Gerwin said to the Cebu Daily News: “My vision is to offer a diverse and memorable dining experience that reflects both local flavors and international cuisines. I aim to create a menu that resonates with our guests’ palates while highlighting the unique culinary heritage of the Philippines.” He’s a total food rock star for that!!!
The resort offers two on-site restaurants and a bar, each catering to different tastes and preferences. Lamian World Cuisine, the resort’s main restaurant, serves an extensive buffet of international and Filipino dishes. From hearty breakfast buffet options to seriously delicious dinner selections, the offerings are diverse and on-the-money satisfying.
For those craving seafood, and a focus on local Filipino food, Marea Al Fresco is the perfect spot. Located near the beachfront, this open-air restaurant is absolutely my favourite and specializes in grilled seafood and local specialities, allowing you to enjoy your meal with a view of the sea and beach: It really is just serene, staring at the endless topaz seas constantly rolling, and the blue blue skies radiating paradise: cold Pilsen, delicious food, wonderful staff: Yep, I love it here!!!
One diner noted on TripAdvisor, “The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the grilled prawns were a must-try. The open-air setting made it even more enjoyable.”
Meanwhile, the Marea Bar, another favourite of mine, offers light snacks and expertly crafted cocktails near the pool, making it an ideal spot to relax during the day or unwind in the evening. This is the place to people watch, and just allow the day, the afternoon, whatever timeframe to just meander past… you’ll lose time sitting here looking at the pool, the beach, the people, and the skies… the magic of the Bellevue Resort has been spun, and you are now addicted…
To close I find it interesting that I cannot find any reference in the interweb of the Bellvue Resort Menu: where is that food menu(s)? So I need to go to brain stealth mode and recall the food and menu items to share them now, folks. Chef? Done on purpose? Anyway, here we go. Again, just to confirm; For lunch ,we sort of unanimously agreed on Western, and then let’s blitz local Filipino Food for dinner.
Sadly that did not happen, with a BOLD assumption from serving staff that night that white man would not want Filipino cuisine: we all assumed they had taken this off the menu, and gone all in on Western food. So for the food review element of this blogs, I will stick to lunch only. Sorry.
Bellevue Resort Menu: what we ate for lunch this day
Lechon Kawali from Bellevue Resort
OK for lunch we did manage to squeeze in one local dish. I think CatCat just ordered it ‘blind’. This is one beautifully plated example of a Filipino icon in their food heritage—the infamous Lechon Kawali. Stunning plating, it has to be said. It was a superior version, with crackling crunch to die for, super-moist and savoury meat, light and fluffy rice + of course, some Suka dipping sauce. Heavenly!!!
Lechon Kawali, also known as Lechon de Carajay or Litsong Kawali, is a Filipino recipe consisting of pork belly slabs, seasoned, and deep-fried in a pan or wok known as a kawali: I did not know that until I just researched it… Old-dog new tricks?
Beef Kebabs with Saffron Rice from Chef Gerwin Bellevue Bohol
Well hello there. Another rather gorgeous plating hits the table. Wifey’s second dish for lunch, and she’s a cracker. I tried the beef kebab, and yeah, amazing savoury kicks and perfect seasoning in that bad boy (yes, I realise I just mixed genders for the kebab: it is now non-gender specific). It was also so very moist, and that’s a skill as these styles of kebab can so easily be overcooked and then become super-dry: these were far from that.
Being Filipino, of course, Wifey was very vocal about the rice. #1 Can I just say that it looks quite incredible plated: 1/ The colour from the Saffron is just sublime eye-candy. 2/ The quenelle serving shape is just genius. 3/ The fluffiness of the rice was near perfection with no clumps in there. 4/ The subtle flavour of the Saffron throughout was a beautiful touch. Perfect bite of kebab, rice, mayo: BOOMSKI!!! The cucumber salad needed seasoning for our palate, but: whatever… the rest of the dish was a beauty.
Chilli Con Carne @ Bellevue Bohol
Stop the bus… Yep, I am calling this out as one of the very best Chilli Con Carnes I have ever had. So good that after I shared a couple of spoons with my Jude Jude we immediately had to order a second portion. #BeProud Chef Gerwin, this is a cracker on the Bellevue Bohol International Menu. A stunner.
OK, maybe a tad more chilli heat was needed for our palates, but Jude and I solved that with Tobasco. Super-savoury, baked cheesy goodness on top, some incredible sides, and genius with chips and soft tortilla servings. Jude and I threw away the cutlery and dug in with our hands. Boy, this was good, and with an icy cold beer pairing: yep, we had those foodie angels singing on high from that chilli con carne cloud… She’s a must-try, folks: WOOF!!!
Chef, you have inspired me to add a new dish to my forthcoming menu… Chilli Con Kapre. Watch this space.
Mussels from Bellevue Bohol
There’s a plate you could see sitting on a Michelin Star table. How beautiful is that, a stunning presentation of a beautifully flavoured dish? Yep, there were ooohs and aaahs constantly coming from the girls and they chomped and slurped their through this absolute cracker. The liquor sauce was to die for. I think the girls would have ordered a bucket of it and another ten sides of the dipping bread if available.
It’s always tough without the Bellevue Bohol Menu to reference back to, but I just asked Wifey about her experience with these mussels. She recounted just how delicious the broth was, maybe laden with creamy coconut overtones so you could grab some mussel meat, then dip that bread in the broth to get the perfect bite. I’d have this as another must-try, folks, as feedback was that it was exceptional.
Beef Quesadillas from Bellevue Bohol
You just can’t go wrong with Quesadillas, can you? These were a really good version from our mates in the kitchen at Bellevue Resort Bohol. Looking great on the plate, nice crisp toast the tortilla and that beef and cheese inside was killer. Seasoning off the charts good and just so juicy and packed with flavour. Great job Chef and crew. Happy kids = happy parents!!! Kids said: delish!!! Much kudos.
A seriously nice breakfast buffet awaits you every morning. Really good spread of variety from local Filipino to international. Super-fresh with nothing having sat under the lamps too long: I watched the kitchen staff constantly checking the serving platters for availability but also freshness, and presentation of the dishes on offer. Nicely done guys, it makes such a difference for us guests.
For example, I am a stickler for scrambled eggs: there is nothing more I hate that dry, solid clumped, zero seasoning scrambled eggs. I therefore use this common dish as a quality measure of breakfast wherever we stay and dine. Chef Gordon Ramsay himself says the mark of a good chef is whether they know how to make proper scrambled eggs. I tell you Bellevue Resort, Chef Ramsay would be proud of your scrambled eggs, near perfection, and therein lies a sign that the rest of the offerings would be of equal quality: and, of course, they were.
Bellevue Resort Review Beach and Poolside Relaxation
Doljo Beach, where The Bellevue Resort is located, is a paradise of white sand and crystal-clear topaz waters. Unlike the busier Alona Beach, Doljo offers a quieter and more private atmosphere, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or simply lounging under the shade of a palm tree: or the new gazebos on the beach. The resort provides sun loungers and umbrellas for guests, along with water sports equipment for those looking to add some adventure to their stay.
There’s also a really cool floating pontoon and walkway. If you want the most stunning views of sunrises and sunsets, and some Instagrammable moments to capture, get yourself to the end of that and snap away. You’ll also see hundreds of Chocolate Chip Starfish, and maybe even a Banded Sea Krait, as we did once, just be careful you look where you’re stepping as there Sea Urchins out there. You don’t want to step on one of them, believe me. But, if you strike up some dialogue with the resort crew you might just be able to get some of these as the freshest served Uni straight from the shell as you lounge…
The infinity pool is another highlight, with its breathtaking views of the sea. Guests have often described the pool as the heart of the resort, a place where families, couples, and friends gather to relax and soak in the tropical vibe. One visitor wrote, “The infinity pool was one of the best I’ve ever experienced—the view was stunning, and it felt like we were swimming right into the ocean.” Whether you prefer the beach or the pool, The Bellevue ensures plenty of options for relaxation: just one thing Bellevue, please add some shade to the pool, just a little bit somewhere…
Bellevue Bohol Nearby Attractions and Things To Do
While the resort itself offers plenty to keep guests entertained, its location also makes it an excellent base for exploring Bohol’s attractions. The iconic Chocolate Hills, a must-see geological wonder, are just an hour or so drive away, including stunning scenery, adventure parks and ATVs.
Nature lovers can also visit the Tarsier Sanctuary to see the adorable, wide-eyed creatures native to the island: the World’s smallest primate in fact. For those interested in marine life, the nearby Balicasag Island offers incredible snorkelling and diving opportunities, showcasing vibrant coral reefs and a plethora of fish species.
How about Whale-Shark swimming at Lilla about 40 minutes from the Bellevue Resort: check our experience below. It surely is a WOW moment, folks. One you’ll likely never forget. You can also swim with turtles at Balicasag, and watch pirouetting dolphin pods at sunrise and sunset: all these excursions can be done from the Bellevue Resort, straight off the beach, just ask the concierge.
Closer to the resort, Hinagdanan Cave provides a unique experience with its underground pool and limestone formations. Many guests have combined their stay at The Bellevue with a day trip to these nearby attractions, describing it as a perfect balance of relaxation and exploration. A reviewer on TripAdvisor shared, “The location of the resort made it easy to explore the best of Bohol while still having a peaceful retreat to come back to at the end of the day.” Just have a chat with your friendly concierge or excursion desk in the resort.
I highly recommend you get out on a boat to get wet, or in a car to the scenic interior of Bohol, she is one beautiful island with so much to offer that will leave you with memories of a lifetime. Just check our YouTube of the Filipino Travel Segment of the Blog.
Bellevue Resort Panglao Review of Service and Hospitalty
The staff at The Bellevue Resort have earned high praise from us for their friendliness and professionalism. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with warm smiles and attentive service, almost as if you were their best friends or family. The staff go out of their way to accommodate special requests, whether it’s arranging excursions, catering to dietary needs, or surprising guests with thoughtful gestures during celebrations.
This commitment to excellent service is one of the reasons why we keep returning to The Bellevue Resort. You can’t get much better than here for such a wonderful crew. You really feel like home from home, that just happens to be in paradise. And that is a WOW moment, believe me.
One guest shared on TripAdvisor, “The service was impeccable. The staff were always ready to assist, and they made my birthday extra special with a surprise cake and song.” Another noted, “Every interaction with the staff made us feel welcome and valued as guests.”
Bellevue Resort Review Sustainability Efforts
In addition to offering luxury and comfort, the resort also emphasises sustainable practices. The resort has implemented eco-friendly measures such as minimising single-use plastics, conserving water, and promoting local culture and products. These efforts have not gone unnoticed by environmentally conscious travelers, who appreciate the resort’s commitment to preserving the beauty of Bohol for future generations.
Much Kudos to resort for being recognised in the Asean Green Hotel Hall of Fame.
The Bellevue Resort Agoda Reviews and TripAdvisor Reviews
Islifearecipe.net is giving the resort a stonking 4.8 out of 5: it really is just so very very good, we have been countless times and it does not falter from its most excellent service. It is up there as one of the Best Resorts in Bohol: Family Kennett is hooked, and we have been coming for years, for lunches, dinners and Panglao Resorts staycations.
There are two reasons why we marked the resort down from a perfect 5.0, though: 1/ We only got given the International menu this trip after a major assumption that the Caucasian (me) wouldn’t want to eat local food: whoopsy (hence the review of the food in this blog being predominantly Western). 2/ It does need some cover over that swimming pool, just a little shaded area would make a massive difference.
The resort holds an impressive rating on platforms like TripAdvisor, where it consistently receives positive reviews. Many guests commend the resort for its luxurious amenities, delicious food, and tranquil setting. One reviewer summed up their experience by saying, “This was the perfect escape from city life. Everything, from the rooms to the service, exceeded our expectations.” Another noted, “The Bellevue Resort gave us everything we needed for a memorable vacation—stunning views, excellent food, and unparalleled hospitality.”
While most feedback is glowing, a few guests have mentioned minor areas for improvement, such as wishing for a larger variety of activities on-site. However, these comments are far outweighed by the overall satisfaction expressed by the majority of visitors.
Bellevue Resort Review Philippines: Our conclusions
The resort offers a luxurious and relaxing escape in one of the most beautiful corners of the Philippines: of course I’d say that, it’s my second home , but come here and you will realise it is absolutely true. Paradise-found is Bohol. With its elegant accommodations, excellent dining options, and serene beachfront location, the resort provides everything you need for a rejuvenating, relaxing or adventurous stay.
Get some lounging by the infinity pool, enjoying a fresh seafood meal, or exploring the natural wonders of Bohol, The Bellevue ensures an experience that is both memorable and rewarding: I guarantee you’ll be recounting the experience for years to come. If you are planning a trip to Bohol, this resort is well worth considering for its combination of comfort, service, and stunning surroundings, and an alternative to the busy, crowded hubbub of the Alona strip.
The Bellevue Resort Panglao offers you a retreat where indulgent comfort meets thoughtful design, giving you a tranquil setting for rest and relaxation: but on your doorstep (AKA beach) is access to fun, adventure and game-changing experiences.
The rooms are spacious, and designed with style and practicality in mind, making every stay feel luxurious: even with a boisterous eleven-year-old sharing with us haha. With balconies overlooking the sea and interiors that combine modern amenities with the cosiest of cosy, the resort creates a amazingly serene escape from the stresses of everyday life. Just do that first exhale when you arrive as you stare over the white. sand and topaz sea, and you’ll be hooked…
It’s a place where waking up to the sound of waves and stunning views of the ocean becomes a cherished part of the experience. I mean come on, have a look above at our balcony view from this trip: how could you not want that every day of your life…? Asking for a friend…
Bellevue Resort Review Amenities
The dining options at the resort cater to a range of tastes, with dishes that highlight fresh, local ingredients. From hearty breakfasts at Lamian to seafood specialties at Marea, the meals are thoughtfully prepared and served in the coolest of locations, all under the watchful eyes of Executive Chef Gerwin: say hello from islifearecipe.net if you get to meet him.
Beyond the resort, the location offers access to some of Bohol’s most iconic attractions. The calm waters and white sands of Doljo Beach provide a peaceful space to relax, while nearby destinations like the Chocolate Hills and Tarsier Sanctuary allow for easy exploration. The Bellevue’s combination of comfort, quality, and proximity to both relaxation and adventure makes it a gateway to experiencing the beauty and warmth of Panglao Island, and beyond. it IS more fun in the Philippines.
Bellevue Resort Bohol Booking
Of course there are the usual suspects like Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Agoda and such or you can just click below and book direct with the resort.
Bellevue Resort Bohol rooftop Bar
It’s funny, a lot of people ask about the Bellevue Resort Rooftop Bar. Funny because there isn’t one. There must be some myth or rumour floating around about that one. There is, however, a lovely bar adjoining one of the restaurants that have high chairs overlooking the white sandy beach and topaz seas: Marea Bar Bellevue gets my vote.
Hotels near Bellevue Bohol
You ask a strange question here, folks. Are you asking because the resort could be full, or are you asking for advice on alternatives? I don’t know… But, as you asked nicely about Hotels Near Bellevue Resort, I can share with you that:
- The nearest resort to Bellevue, just a way up the beach, is the rather wonderful Modala Beach Resort. Yes, we have stayed there also a few times, and you can read about that HERE.
- Another family Kennett favourite about 40 minutes away is South Palms Resort, now renamed Oceanica Resort. This is stunning, but man alive the price just went up to $$$$.
- You could/should also try Henann Resort. Wow, we have been here so so many times. Again times have changed of late, and the $$$ is creeping up and up, but you still can’t beat the quality of the place.
