Photo shoot at Kilo @ Kallang for Under Pressure

Photo shoot at Kilo @ Kallang for Under Pressure

Sunday 22nd October – another monumental moment in time. My first photo shoot and magazine interview – this is Photo shoot at Kilo @ Kallang for Under Pressure. Now as you know from before I am not cooking at Kilo @ Kallang until 7th October, but the ‘lucky 7’ were all brought together today for photos and interviews. I understand this will go in to LifeStyle Asia magazine and on to the FB account of course.

Sweating like a pig today we had group photos and individual photos and journalist interviews. Feeling like a bit of a celebratory now ha ha. Will be fun to see the results. Now an added bonus was that the restaurant opened up downstairs now as well – called Camp Kilo, it is pretty damned impressive – on the menu;

Whole roasted pig;

Roasted French poussin chicken;

Crispy pork belly;

Pork ribs;

And the accompaniments like deep fried Brussel sprouts, pomelo & green mango salad, patatas bravas, tom ‘yum’ cocido, sweet ‘n’ spicy corn, burnt carrots, some amazing pickles and then down to things like corn bread and potato rolls with roasted Jalapeno butter. Oh yeah baby. A great way to to end the Photo shoot at Kilo @ Kallang for Under Pressure. And yes folks this is all on an open pit BBQ – frikkin awesome in my reckoning.

And whilst here let’s try some of the food – so glad we did. Man oh man, simply put it is delicious. Amy and I went for the deep fried Brussel sprouts and BBQ pork ribs. Check these out;

Liking the menu…

You have to come try this place. Uber cool tunes spinning out, sat in the courtyard, munching on wonderful BBQ food. Doesn’t get much better. So a great end to the day of Photo shoot at Kilo @ Kallang for Under Pressure. Hope to see you on October 7th, and seriously try this place before hand, just bring your own beer for the next few weeks until they get a license – ENJOY!!!

Brian Kennett

Father of 3. All my kids are mixed, with English-Japanese, and English-Filipino - a recipe in the making there. I have been cooking since a small lad, as guided by my Nan and my Mum - gradually that morphed through exposure to Thai cooking from a lovely lady called Da in Margate. I used to hang out in her restaurant and watch the techniques. So the 1+1= greater than 2 occurred - Mum/Nan/Da - off I went in to the world of Asian cuisine. Moving to Asia in early 2000's clearly has brought that on somewhat - we travel continually, and eat locally and therefore have exposure to more and more new things. I have lived my dream and written a cook book whilst here, an amazing experience and all for a good cause too as I raised a lot of money for charity. My blog is now hopefully turning in to book number 2. Watch this space. I hope you enjoy my passion.
