Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag

Making these blogs a little more skinny now, as we’re just pottering around and spending most of our day online trying to create an exit strategy back home to Singapore despite Covid-19. I would just like to call out what they call the Manila Mission, AKA the Singaporean Embassy for the Philippines, Opera Estate School, St Stephen’s School, SilkAir and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Singapore. Plus my mates have all been offering to help and getting in there and even ringing around. Over the last day or so there have been many WOW moments from you all – family Kennett cannot thank you enough. But here we go as if normality reigned, here comes Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag.

I am loving filling the fridge or just making stuff up for the kids from what is sitting in the fridge. Today I went Native Filipino Chorizo & Egg Pairing… Let’s have a look.

Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
Daughter Jhea ordered Chorizo Omelette. Stuffed with yummy sweet meaty goodness, with soft and fluffy egg in the middle. Delicious. Well, she did eat every single little bit, so I have to assume it was OK…
Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
Strawberry Blonde asks for Chorizo Scrambled Eggs. Nicely done, looking good. Happy with them absolutely. And again the daughter polished them off so I have to assume all was good…?
Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
We have been coming here since 2010, and my first time in the Philippines. This is the 1st Payag too, and so is our magnet to them. We just love coming here. It is 100% family, no-frills, fantastic food. I think the best BBQ chicken ever. It is a must-visit if you happen to be in Bohol. So amazingly good at such reasonable prices. We will come here every single time we come back without any doubt!!!

For example, let’s go back to 2012 shall we, just to embarrass a few in the front row of the photo (but including yours truly too) haha. We literally do come here every single time we come to the Philippines home!!!
Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
See what I mean? We order loads of food, chat and graze continually. It is brilliant. The kids can go crazy. The kids can run around. No one cares. It is 100% family food and family fun. What could be better? And this is my location recommendation for any Payag. It’s #1 as in the 1st and #1 as in the best. In my humble opinion.

And we both have big chickens… Talk about a match made in heaven!!!
Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
A little retail therapy afterwards as we are assuming we are here for the long term after our flights keep getting continually cancelled. Jude Jude starts singing; “Baby Shark- a-do-do-do-do, Baby Shark!!!” I have no idea why though… In the form of a panto; “Jude Jude, it’s behind you…”
Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
Seems to be a repeated joke for Jude Jude this one. Whenever we go here he must find the toilets and do this. Now joined by Strawberry Blonde too. The wrong shirt to be flushing down the loo though mate, shouldn’t it be red with a Liver Bird on it? Their season just got flushed – whoopsy!!!
Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag
And then on our way out of the shopping centre, I notice that the Pharmacy has organised some Line Dancing to stop the people queuing from getting bored. How nice is that of them… Oh, wait a minute it’s Social Distancing… Boring!!!

And that was that Day #7 on Panglao, Brekkie & Payag was over. We went to AA BBQ again for dinner as everywhere is starting to close down now as part of quarantine and social distancing. So very sad, but still an absolutely amazing dinner with the guys. Our last for this trip sadly, as we really do hope to be off on a flight on 23/3 if the Embassy and SilkAir have anything to do with it. All we need is to clear the health checks in Tagbilaran, then Tubigon Ferry Terminal, and then Cebu. We have to get on the ferry at 0700am at Tubigon. We have to board that flight at 1900 Cebu to Singapore. And then do our 2-week house-arrest indoors. Whilst we are here though we push on and ensure the WHOLE family is having fun.

ENJOY!!!
