Islifearecipe.net pop in for a pint at Tapas Club Jewel
Looking to spice up your airport experiences with a little Spanish flair? Imagine yourself wandering through Changi Airport’s glistening Jewel when all of a sudden, your taste receptors begin saying, “Hola!” Yep, that happened last night for the Islifearecipe crew, and what fun we had. This night we didn’t eat: you need to watch the blog for a fix of that void coming soon.
But have we left you intrigued? Prepare to plunge into a beer session at the very cool Spanish locale known as Tapas Club Jewel.
Tapas Club Jewel is dishing up enticing Spanish cuisine that will have you exclaiming, “Más, por favor!” whether you’re a foodie on a mission or just someone who thinks that delicious food is the key to happiness (Islifearecipe absolutely agree!). But tonight we’d already eaten and could not squeeze anything in, even if wafer-thin, apart from beer (and some olives).
A lightbulb moment happened though, as we sat there chatting, laughing, and drinking. This is actually a very uber-cool bar. If you like having a drink and watching a crazy amount of footfall wandering you by (AKA people-watching), then look no further. It really was fun. Spencer and I truly had fun. This was clearly helped by the incredible front-of-house crew of Desmond and Stella (you’ll meet them shortly).
So yeah, readers, give it a go one night. Come down here to Tapas Club Jewel, grab a pint and some small plates at the bar, and just enjoy the chaos an airport brings. I think you’ll really find it unique and just a wonderful experience. Let’s have a look at ours this day.
Specials galore too. Don’t walk past-mindlessly staring into shop windows. Take the weight and grab a cold one and a few snacks. It’s truly so very good. By the way, for this photo, I had to wait an age until there was no people traffic – back to the people watching. I could have sat here for hours. Actually, we did!!!
I tell you, it’s as good as any bar on Red Dot – I forgot I was in an airport immediately. I’ll be back for certain. Next time tapas on the table tops too.
We supped heartily on the damned fine Spanish tipple of Estrella Galicia, but also Tapas Club’s very own lager: a little more floral overtones and seriously delicious. Due to the food coma, one could only manage to squeeze two bowls of these olives into one’s fat face. OMG. I’d come back here just for the olives. So savoury and salty with some ‘influence’ of anchovy in there. Incredible bar snacks.
Our two new BFFs Desmond and Stella. Stella is all the way from Myanmar: that’s one hell of a commute bless her. Seen here pointing at an award: where the Islifearecipe.net Spanish review campaign started. The Restaurants of Spain accreditation, AKA ICEX. Basically are you, as a Spanish restaurant using Spanish produce and promoting Spain? The 20 Spanish lagers and two bowls of Spanish olives that went down my neck prove that to a certain degree… I could have been in Spain!!!
Tapas Club has three locations in Singapore that have this prestigious award from Spain: Vivo City, Jewel, and Orchard Central. They share that honour with fifteen other Spanish restaurants across Singapore, and you can read reviews about most of them on Islifearecipe.net.
Sometimes I really love my alter-ego nondaytime job… Seriously though to visit such wonderful places, meet so many new friends, and eat and drink the most amazing cuisine and beverages = blessed!!!
Our new mates. Stella and Desmond. To Jose, you have two of the very best crew here I have ever interacted with. #Beproud of these two my friend. We had a blast.
As you sip on your chosen beverages, whether it’s a classic Sangria or a carefully crafted cocktail (by the way they do frozen Sangria and frozen Margaritas here), the surrounding atmosphere adds an extra layer of enjoyment to your time at Tapas Club Jewel. The warm and inviting setting, the crew, combined with the tantalizing aroma of Spanish fare, creates a unique blend of sensations that truly elevate your drinking experience.
So, folks ticket or no ticket, flight or no flight – heck, just come here for date night. Grab a delicious beer, and some small plates of tapas, sit at the bar, and just absolutely ENJOY!!! Oh yeah, and say hello to Stella and Desmond, please!!!

Each plate is carefully crafted to showcase the culinary expertise and finesse of the chefs. From the first bite, it was evident that Tapas Club is a purveyor of exceptional quality.
The selection of tapas offered an array of choices, from familiar classics to inventive creations. The patatas bravas, a quintessential Spanish dish, were flawlessly executed, with crispy potatoes smothered in a tangy tomato sauce and a drizzle of creamy aioli. The gambas al ajillo, plump and succulent prawns cooked in garlic-infused olive oil, were a true delight for the senses.
One cannot overlook the star of Spanish cuisine, the paella, and Tapas Club’s rendition was nothing short of extraordinary. The rice was cooked to perfection, absorbing the flavors of saffron and a medley of seafood and meats. Each mouthful was a symphony of textures and aromas, transporting me to the shores of Valencia.
The impeccable service at Tapas Club Jewel deserves special mention. The staff, knowledgeable and attentive, were eager to guide me through the menu, sharing their insights and recommendations. Their passion for Spanish cuisine was evident in their explanations and willingness to ensure a memorable dining experience.
