Personal opinion of Amorita Resort
Amorita Resort was the very first place I stayed when I visited Panglao for the first time. It was incredible. Way before the other resorts, like Henann Resort, ever existed. The beach was uber-cool with dive bars and local food stalls. Very bohemian and just downright cool.
Since then it has almost trebled in size, adding new pools and restaurants to cope with the major room expansion. Location, location, location โ you canโt beat sundowner cocktails here at the top of the cliff, watching Alona Beach transform into a twinkling fun time at night.
It is up there now though with the $$$, so we normally now visit the restaurants to mix up the food experiences when โon-islandโ.

BE Grand Resort is very popular with visitors from South Korea, in fact when we stayed there I think we were the only non-Korean guests. Itโs a cracking Panglao Resort, but does lack a natural beach. They cater for that by having a โferryโ running from the resort to drop you off on Alona Beach. That works. Most of the resorts allow you to use their beaches if you dine and/or drink.
Another cracking thing about BE Grand Resort and its three restaurants all helmed by Chef Jenz. You simply must try Lune Rooftop (watch that video), with its sunset views, cocktails and food to die for.

Weโve been here countless times, it really is wonderful. Stunning beaches, topaz sease, beautiful swimming pool (albeit no shade), awesome food an dal fresco dining, cool toonz and live music most nights, and lots of kids entertainment. Due to its location, it is mich quieter than Alona Beach Resorts, which also means it is a little secluded.
If you want to chillax away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. Itโs also why a lot of celebrities choose here when they venture from Cebu or Manila. I highly recommend getting a sea view room, when you open those curtains in the morning it is simply breath-taking.
Itโs also a wonderful location for doing some island hopping, dolphin watching, snorkelling, and diving and so on. Next stop Balicasag Island โ itโs stunningโฆ

Henann Resort is probably our favourite of all the Panglao Resorts, itโs class-personified. The food is exceptional, the rooms are beautiful,ย the crew are awesome, the pools are truly wonderful, the beach is pristine, the sea is warm and topaz, sunsets are magical: now glue the three together and imagine having dinner, as the sun sets, with feet in sand, a cold beer and cool toonz wafting through the airโฆย
Itโs in the centre of everything, walk out onto the beach and turn left to other resorts, bars and restos. Turn left and you enter the world of bars, dive bars, cheaper resorts, a plethora of restos and street/beach cuisine and constant entertainment.
Make sure you book an island hopping trip, some snorkelling or diving, go see those dolphins and turtles. Life-changing memories will be cast from the Henann Resort...

I love this place because the Bohol Beach Club is the BBC. Perhaps I should call it Auntyโฆ
Weโve had a few nights here, and found it not so โwelcomingโ, a tad โover-exclusiveโ, and now seriously punchy on the $$$. Also, silly little things like massive expansions of open nothing, just grass, and a swimming pool with zero shade options, believe me, it gets hot. Plus you are a captive audience, as itโs a little โremoteโ. I would suggest this is not so good for kids to be brutally honest.
I believe though they have recently refurbished which I was also going to add as a need โ a refresh of the very aged rooms and facilities. Perhaps weโll go back soon and see how it looks now.

We fell in love with this place the first time we stayed. Some AirBNB guest of ours stayed for a couple of nights and raved about it โ we didnโt even know it existed despite having lived here for 12 years prior. It is a beauty. If you can afford to make sure you opt for the Beach Villa, they are one of a kind. I sat for hours on our patio watching the sun rise and set, the topaz sea roll in and out, and people amble back and forth along the immense white sandy beach. Itโs stunning!!!
Two pools, tennis, a gym, a spa, and even South Farmย where they grow and raise all the produce you eat and drink in the resort. Itโs off-the-charts. You relax immediately as you walk in, and become horizontal once you get your feet in the sand get that first beer and/or cocktail in your hand and settle down to absorb the view. Live music at the pool most nights adds to the magical feel of this stand-out resort.
We will always try to stay here when we come home, but with 78 rooms only it is tending to get packed out now. You can visit for lunch and/or dinner use the beach if drinking and dining, and pay for the kids to use the pool. It is worth every single cent.

Itโs a cracker, it really is. Weโve stayed here a few times now and just love it. Great food, people, beaches and sea, exquisite views, stunning food and ease of access to the boat trips, island hopping and dolphin watching: hey you can even rent horses for a gallop along the beach.
If you can afford it, always go for a sea view room, it is simply breathtaking to stand on the balcony and soak in the views. The pool is lovely, albeit lacking shaded areas when the sun is high.
A killer food recommendation for you is their special Halo Halo. The very best I have ever had in all my years in the Philippines. Also, rent a boat, and go snorkelling or diving, itโs game-changing. In fact Modala has its very own dive shop on premises. Itโs such a wonderful resort.
The only cautionary call outs are: 1/ It is a little remote away from the buzz of Alona Beach and Panglao Town. 2/ It has the most bizarre โshopping centreโ attached to it that has been 2/3 empty for as long as it has ben open. Itโs just weird!!! But there is a big 7-11 if you need emergency supplies.
