Adstragold Microbrewery & LavaStone SteakHouse @ East Coast

Adstragold Microbrewery & LavaStone SteakHouse @ East Coast, is up there as one of the most expensive restaurants I think I have been to on this little island. But, and this is a big but, the food that you get is exceptional. I cannot over emphasise that, and hope that the photo below shows it off too.

417 East Coast Road – 6345 3378.

Holy cow just look at that meat, be still my beating heart!

You basically have the chance to consume the very best Wagyu beef. It comes a little seared on both sides, sizzling away on a white hot lava stone. I seasoned the steaks with some salt and cracked black pepper, and then cut them in to strips across the grain to keep tender. Oh my goodness gracious me. If you cook this well, as in medium at its most cooked, you will end up with these beef butter strips that will literally melt in your mouth. That is the truly incredible thing about this place, Adstragold Microbrewery & LavaStone SteakHouse @ East Coast.

But I am going to knock it for a few things. The menu is massive, with way too much on offer in my humble opinion. The menu for the meats is really confusing, and to be honest I should have questioned how much what I ordered was before agreeing it. Yep out came a bill for $450. Oh my good God!!! That is $$$$, but I will caveat it was us that placed the orders not them.

So this is a once a year, or once a quarter, a special occasion, a work dinner, or when Daddy gets some bonus dining experience. But again it has to be said that Adstragold Microbrewery & LavaStone SteakHouse @ East Coast is serving up some of the very best meat you’ll eat. Here’s more food porn.

What they call M9 Wagyu, which you can see is intensely marbled and will therefore sort of melt in to fatty meaty goodness when you sear it.

So we had double helpings of the M9 Wagyu, baby lamb racks, oysters, 6 sides, ciders, wines and kids drinks. So yes we ate a vast amount, but ouch in the pocket still reigns strong.

Some little guys over from Ireland.

But Adstragold Microbrewery & LavaStone SteakHouse @ East Coast we will be back. The meat was just so good that it will cause us to return. Really well done on that guys. Thanks to our server Lilian for the night, a lovely lady , who was ever so chatty and friendly. Best meat ever. Save your pennies and get yourself along to have this experience – ENJOY!!!

Brian Kennett

Father of 3. All my kids are mixed, with English-Japanese, and English-Filipino - a recipe in the making there. I have been cooking since a small lad, as guided by my Nan and my Mum - gradually that morphed through exposure to Thai cooking from a lovely lady called Da in Margate. I used to hang out in her restaurant and watch the techniques. So the 1+1= greater than 2 occurred - Mum/Nan/Da - off I went in to the world of Asian cuisine. Moving to Asia in early 2000's clearly has brought that on somewhat - we travel continually, and eat locally and therefore have exposure to more and more new things. I have lived my dream and written a cook book whilst here, an amazing experience and all for a good cause too as I raised a lot of money for charity. My blog is now hopefully turning in to book number 2. Watch this space. I hope you enjoy my passion.
