Jungyi Korean BBQ Restaurant Review: Authentic Korean Flavours hit Siglap
Jungyi Korean BBQ Review: Welcome, fellow Korean BBQ enthusiasts! Today, we’re finally able to venture into the restaurant to experience Jungyi Korean BBQ, a place where the grills are hot, the flavours are bold, and the concept of reservations is as foreign as kimchi-flavoured ice cream. Yes, folks, no reservations (as Anthony Bourdain would say). I suggest you get there as close as you can to 5:30 pm. Believe me, you will not regret it.
A ‘First-Come, First-Served’ Adventure: Planning ahead? Forget it. At Jungyi Korean BBQ Restaurant, it’s all about embracing spontaneity. Arrive early, queue up, and hope your stomach doesn’t start a rebellion before you’re seated. If you’re queuing you have to look through the big windows at all the diners chowing down on the delicious offerings: it’s like food torture.
Grill Mastery: From marinated meats to sizzling platters, why not test your skills in the art of Korean BBQ? You will emerge as grill gurus or charred novices? Or if you can’t be bothered, or are just downright lazy, you can let the lovely serving staff cook it up for you.
Side Dish Shenanigans: Kimchi, pickled radishes, and those mysterious little bowls of umami goodness that make you question if you’ve been living under a Korean rock.
The Verdict: Is the lack of a booking system a quirky charm or a test of our patience? And more importantly, does the food make it all worthwhile? Categorically the answer is: suck it up buttercup: queue, you will understand why when that first piece of King Rib or Pork Jowl crossed your lips…
Join family Kennett as we navigate the delicious chaos that is Jungyi Korean BBQ. This is now, dare I say it, our favourite Korean BBQ restaurant in Singapore: yes they have pipped our mates at Yun Ga. This place is pumping out the most delicious steaks, eggs, grilled fish, and even “humble” kimchi that I have ever had. It is your next MUST TRY!!!
Jungyi Korean BBQ Menu
We have been twice now and always order from the a la carte offerings on the Jungyi Korean BBQ Menu. They do offer packages though or beef and pork, seafood and pork, and so on. But we do love making our own a la carte “package” up.
Must-tries are: King Rib, Wagyu Sirloin, Boneless Beef Rib, Pork Jowl, Steamed Egg, Grilled Fish, Kimchi Pancake… Oh my, I am getting hungry now!!! You can watch the video above and pause on the snap shot of a couple of the menu pages for the Beef and Pork offerings…
Jungyi Korean BBQ Review: Yes, folks, these guys used to be located at 727 East Coast Road, within the 3838 Eating Place coffeeshop, then known as Jungyi Korean Food where they offered a delightful selection of traditional Korean dishes in the heart of Siglap: it really was rather good. This eatery, run by a Korean lady with experience in Singapore’s restaurant scene, quickly became a favourite among locals seeking genuine Korean cuisine.
So maybe not a surprise that she has now opened up a new restaurant on the site of what was Starbucks, Siglap, and made it al la carte, plus the iconic Korean BBQ offering now.

Jungyi Korean BBQ Siglap: Ambience and Setting
We walked past it last night and it looked lovely, with an avenue of beautiful plants to this restaurant emitting a lovely glow. Situated in what was Starbucks, they now have al-fresco and indoor dining (indoor is where Jungyi Korean BBQ is due to the need for extractor fans. They have so much more space and now aircon, that when at 3838 Eating Place: so I’d suggest it is a more comfortable environment for diners now.
It was mobbed. We did ring both numbers in the public domain but neither is working, and on social media, it just shows them as closed: perhaps they are waiting for Google to make the big announcement.
Jungyi Korean BBQ Menu: Highlights
When at the Siglap hawker, Jungyi Korean Food boasted quite an extensive menu with over 15 dishes, catering to a variety of tastes. Steamed Egg, priced at S$4.90, which was a delicious and value-for-money option. For meat lovers, the Beef Bulgogi set at S$7.90 included rice and a selection of banchan, such as seaweed, kimchi, and tofu skin. The tender, thinly sliced beef with appetising side dishes was ever so good.
Diners praised Jungyi Korean Food for its authentic flavours and reasonable prices. The generous portions and complimentary side dishes added value to the meal when at the hawker. Many became regulars, drawn by the quality of dishes like kimchi, bibimbap, and beef bulgogi: here’s hoping Jungyi Korean BBQ goes the same way with a loyal following.

For the taste, much better than many other Korean restaurants.” And, another said: “Tried the Sundubu Jigae with beef set today for lunch. Authentic and comes with fish cake, kimchi, and seaweed on the side. Stall is manned by a few young and polite staff. Service was quick too. Highly recommended.”
