Camp Vision, Tea for a Cause, Drool

Camp Vision, Tea for a Cause, Drool

Camp Vision, Tea for a Cause, Drool took place today. What a day it was. I am so humbled and so proud to have been part of this day. We cooked and raised a heap of cash for Camp Vision. We were supporting under privileged kids and helping them to maybe realise a dream one day. The kids we met were just the nicest guys, so helpful, so respectful and so appreciative. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you guys and I tell you we’ll all be back next year given the chance to work and have fun with you again.

A few hiccups, but all addressed on the day. A little bit of burnt rice, pork taking forever to crackle and the eggs causing a missed heartbeat or two.But the outcome was incredible for Camp Vision, Tea for a Cause, Drool. We literally sold out EVERYTHING. There was nothing left apart from dirty pots and pans. A VERY proud moment.

Special call outs to;

Edward Esmero for being our celebratory guest Chef for the cooking competition. Thanks buddy that meant a lot.

Laurel Toh for being chief supporter, photographer and wine server.

Family Kennett for allowing to me to disappear for another two days.

Sophia & Freya Rutherford for being front of house all day, for prepping, and for dragging punters to us. They worked tirelessly.

Adrea Chea and Diana Loo for making this happen in the first place.

And of course my team; Steve Rutherford, Simon & Lek Ranahan, Terry Teng, Ollie Wood, Trevor Inglis and Sylvia.

We rocked guys and did some amazing good forCamp Vision, Tea for a Cause, Drool. Be PROUD, cos I sure am of you all. Thanks for being with me. What a day!!!

“Seriously Terry, she had a massive pair of…”

Camp Vision, Tea for a Cause, Drool. I think I’ll be speaking for all my team if I said that we would do it all again in a heartbeat. It was such an incredible experience. We loved the kids. Camp Vision you should be proud of those guys, as they worked their socks off, they were polite, and they were hungry to learn. If you can in some shape or form help these guys, please do so – CampVision is such a great charity. Make a difference to these kids – ENJOY!!!

Brian Kennett

Father of 3. All my kids are mixed, with English-Japanese, and English-Filipino - a recipe in the making there. I have been cooking since a small lad, as guided by my Nan and my Mum - gradually that morphed through exposure to Thai cooking from a lovely lady called Da in Margate. I used to hang out in her restaurant and watch the techniques. So the 1+1= greater than 2 occurred - Mum/Nan/Da - off I went in to the world of Asian cuisine. Moving to Asia in early 2000's clearly has brought that on somewhat - we travel continually, and eat locally and therefore have exposure to more and more new things. I have lived my dream and written a cook book whilst here, an amazing experience and all for a good cause too as I raised a lot of money for charity. My blog is now hopefully turning in to book number 2. Watch this space. I hope you enjoy my passion.
