Xóm Mới Garden Restaurant Review: First Impressions and Ambiance of Danang food
On arrival, you’re greeted with an understated charm that sets Xóm Mới apart. The outdoor garden area, complete with tropical plants and softly lit lanterns, creates a calm garden environment, despite being in the bustling streets of city Danang. Inside, the decor is simple yet stylish, a bit like your Mum’s front room, combining natural wooden accents with splashes of modern design. This balance gives it such a homely and warm-welcoming vibe, ideal for both family gatherings and casual meals with friends, it really is one of the Best Restaurants in Da Nang.
Xóm Mới Garden Restaurant Review: The Interior of Best Restaurants in Da Nang
The seating is thoughtfully arranged, ensuring a super-comfortable dining experience. Whether you prefer the cool interiors or the fresh outdoor air, the restaurant accommodates varying preferences. We sat indoors for some aircon, and it was raining a little outside. It’s clear from the moment you step in that attention has been paid to creating an atmosphere that is welcoming without being over-the-top. It felt welcoming, like visiting a friend’s place, and now we’re ready to eat.
Da Nang Restaurant Menu Highlights: Traditional Vietnamese at Its Best, Danang food
Xóm Mới Garden focuses on authentic Vietnamese dishes, celebrating the rich flavours, textures and techniques from across the country. With an extensive menu catering to meat lovers, seafood enthusiasts, and vegetarians, there’s no shortage of choice. I even went veggie for one of my most favourite foods on the planet, the iconic Vietnamese pancake: Bánh Xèo.
Here are some standout dishes on the Xom Moi Garden Menu that deserve attention, that we didn’t eat today:
- Gỏi Xoài: A refreshing green mango salad, a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavours. Tossed with prawns and peanuts, it’s a flavour-packed palate-cleanser that pairs so well with heavier mains. She’s a cracker.
- Cá Kho Tộ: For a taste of comfort, their caramelised fish in a clay pot is hard to beat: come on who doesn’t love claypot (asking for a friend). The fish is tender, with a caramel sauce adding a a savoury but sweet depth that sticks to every bite. It’s served with steamed rice, allowing you to soak up every last bit of the rather wonderful sauce.
- Bún Thịt Nướng: Grilled pork served over vermicelli noodles, accompanied by crisp vegetables and a light fish sauce. The pork is marinated in traditional spices, grilled to a smoky umami, and beautifully paired with super-fresh herbs that lift it on high.
- Cơm Chiên Dứa: Pineapple fried rice is a beautiful mix of textures and flavours. The natural sweetness of the pineapple hits the savoury rice, with bits of shrimp and chicken adding yet more flavour and texture. Served in a halved pineapple shell, it’s a visual treat as much as it is a delight to eat: I made this myself once.

- Nem Nướng Bánh Mì: Grilled meatball at 75.000đ, or SGD ~$3.98
- Bò Nướng Phô Mai Bánh Mì: Beef and Cheese at 95.000đ, or SGD ~$5.05
- Dac Biet Bánh Mì: Special at 75.000đ, or SGD ~$3.98
Try the special at less than four Singaporean bucks. What a cracking Banh Mi, starting with the bread, a crisp like the best pork crackling, and then the fluffy chewy interior as light as a cloud. Then you get hit with the variety of meats within and the super-fresh salad and herbs. One of the best Banh Mi I have ever had, without any shadow of a doubt. BOOMSKI!!!
Baked Rolls: Xóm Mới Garden Restaurant Review BEST SELLER
Nem Nướng at 245.000đ, or SGD ~$13 equivalent pricing. Guys, this fed three people, for thirteen bucks: WOW!!!
Another rice paper wrapping experience, getting a bit of everything you see here tightly rolled up in a water-softened rice paper. You can watch the master, AKA our server, rolling these on our TikTok Channel HERE. Again, I’ll draw your attention here to just how fresh everything is, like it has literally just been picked from the garden, washed and put on the platter – with a taste that accompanies that experience.
Grilled chicken wings with chilli salt: Xóm Mới Garden Restaurant Review
Cánh Gà Nướng Muối ớt at 155.000đ, or SGD ~$8.23
We didn’t even get chance to dig into these, sadly, as we were all blown out by the mass volume of the other dishes that came first. I kid you not, not one wing left the plate, as we were all in a food coma. So, all I can say to the crew at Xom Moi Garden Restaurant is sorry, but they look absolutely delicious!!!
Garlic Fried Rice: Xóm Mới Garden Restaurant Review
Cơm Cháy Tỏi at 95.000đ, or SGD ~$5.05
I tell you, folks, despite having a Filipino Wifey I am not a rice guy. But if rice were a religion: for this I would convert. I don’t know how they cooked this rice, but it was sublime. I had nearly finished this before the other food arrived, it was just so good. Nutty, a slight al dente crunch, and then the fried garlic: WOOF!!!
Bánh Xèo Chay: Xóm Mới Garden Restaurant Review
This crispy Vietnamese pancake is sometimes filled with shrimp and squid, or prawn and pork belly, cooked to perfection. Served with a side of fresh herbs and a tangy dipping sauce, it’s a dish that captures the essence of Vietnamese street food. Diners have noted how well the pancake holds its crispiness, even as it soaks up the vibrant sauce: and I personally love the crunch of the outside, but chewy gooey on the inside. Man, I love this so much…
- Banh Xeo Hai San, Seafood Pancake (shrimp and squid) at 195.000đ, or SGD ~$10.40
- Banh Xeo, Pancake (Pork and shrimps) at 155.000đ, or SGD ~$8.23
- Banh Xeo Chay, Vegetarian pancake at 125.000đ, or SGD ~$6.64
You just can’t get better, you just can’t. There are textures going off like little fire-crackers everywhere, and the flavour pops smacking your senses from every direction. It is a foodie heavenly moment. If there were Banh Xeo Chay angels, they’d be beating our their vocal chords right about now, it is just so damned good! I am in love!!! And, yes, folks I was on the veggie option: holy f@ck!!!
Beverages and Desserts: Da Nang Restaurant Menu
While the food menu steals the show, Xóm Mới Garden doesn’t fall short on drinks. The coconut coffee comes highly recommended, blending the richness of Vietnamese coffee with the creaminess of coconut milk. It’s the kind of drink that lingers in your memory long after your meal is over.
For dessert, the sticky rice with mango is a safe yet satisfying choice. The sweetness of the mango pairs perfectly with the slightly salty coconut cream drizzled over the sticky rice.
The Dining Experience: is it one of the Best Vietnamese Restaurant in Da Nang
Beyond the menu, what makes Xóm Mới Garden a worthwhile visit is the overall experience. The staff are warm and approachable, often going out of their way to make guests feel at home: even rolling your pancakes if you’re a novice or first-timer. English-speaking staff members are available, which is a bonus for international visitors.
The pace of the service strikes a good balance—not too fast, so you feel rushed, but not so slow that you’re left waiting for ages. The dishes come out freshly prepared, as I mentioned, almost dripping with dew from when the farmer picked them that morning. The dining areas are kept spotless, which adds to the comfort of dining here at one of the Best Restaurants in Da Nang: we met a lady who said it was her place, and you could sense her pride of what they have created here. And, rightly so.
