Mookata, does it get any. better? I know I know I know. Youโre probably thinking, how many times can you review the same eating joint? Well here is another for Khun Mookata @ Siglap.ย
I am trying different media, namely video now for my reviews and want to see if you like this or not. I have used Gregโs because weโre there once or twice a month minimum, and is therefore a good place to start.
PLUS as you cook for yourself here, I can sort of build up the story of why you should eat here.
So can you comment โ can you tell me what you think? Does video work as a review? I think it looks pretty cool. Short and to the point. Iโd relish hearing from you.

They say a picture paints a thousand words, but I reckon this video paints about 4,354,238 words. If only you could smell and taste the video. Greg was pulling all the stops out this night at Khun Mookata @ Siglap โ our friends Hokkaido Snow Wagyu Beef, and Iberico Pork were back with us. Best meats ever.
If you donโt try this stuff before you pop your clogs and exit this mortal coil you should be beaten with a big stick. The Semi-Naked Chef says so โ ENJOY!!!
A Thai Mookata is a unique and delightful culinary experience thatโs taken Southeast Asia by storm. Imagine a sizzling hot plate, shaped like a dome, surrounded by a moat of savoury broth. Itโs a bit like Korean BBQ meets Chinese hotpot, with a distinctly Thai twist.
Thai Mookata is now a Sizzling Sensation in Singapore
If youโre a foodie in Singapore craving a taste of Thailand with a interactive twist, look no further than the mookata experience. This culinary delight, which has taken the Lion City by storm, offers a perfect blend of BBQ and hotpot: WOOF!!!.
โMookataโ, which translates to โpork panโ in Thai, is a unique dining concept that originated in Northern Thailand. Picture this: a dome-shaped metal skillet, reminiscent of a soldierโs helmet, surrounded by a moat of savoury broth. Itโs like the lovechild of Korean BBQ and Chinese hotpot, but with a distinctly Thai flair.
The genius of mookata lies in its design. Diners grill marinated meats atop the dome whilst simultaneously cooking vegetables and noodles in the surrounding soup. As the meat sizzles, its flavourful juices trickle down into the broth, creating a mouth-watering concoction that evolves throughout the meal.
Typical mookata offerings include thinly sliced pork, beef, chicken, and seafood for grilling, alongside an array of vegetables, noodles, and eggs for the soup. Donโt forget to try the Thai-style dipping sauces โ theyโre the perfect accompaniment to your grilled goodies.
But where can one indulge in this Thai treat in Singapore? Fear not readers, for Mookata joints have sprung up across the island. Here are a few popular spots to get your fix:
- Cheese Story Mookata at Yishun: As the name suggests, they offer a unique cheese-dipped meat option.
- Siam Square Mookata in Punggol: Known for its affordable prices and generous portions.
- Aroy Mak Mookata at Mackenzie Road: A hit among locals for its authentic flavours.
- New Udon Thai Food at Golden Mile Complex: A no-frills experience in Singaporeโs โLittle Thailandโ.
- Bangkok Street Mookata at Tai Seng: Popular for its extensive menu and late-night opening hours.
Remember, Mookata is best enjoyed as a social affair. Gather your mates, roll up your sleeves, and prepare for a night of sizzling, and slurping as youโll see fro mour video. Just be warned โ once you start, itโs hard to stop! ENJOY!!!
