Tomato Basil and Balsamic Shots: beauties for any party

Tomato, Basil and Balsamic Shots: These are shots of a different kind that I am used to. I was making a soup and ended up with quite a bit of spare basil and coriander – damn, what to do with the spare? Well, I ended up creating Tomato, Basil, and Balsamic Shots. Amazing little things.

These herbs go off so quickly. Truly what to do? I need to be fast, I need something simple. I came up with this idea. Shots of a different kind.Tomato Basil and Balsamic Shots. In fact, I think these look great. A perfect meal accompaniment – even a midway palate cleanser because of the balsamic. These Tomato Basil and Balsamic Shots are so so good.

Take 4-6 shot glasses and add in the following, in this order;

  1. A little ripped coriander;
  2. A little ripped sweet basil;
  3. A finely chopped quarter of a large tomato;
  4. A drizzle of Olive oil;
  5. A drizzle of balsamic vinegar;
  6. A sprinkle of sea salt and cracked ground pepper.

There you have it. Come on you could do this blindfolded. It cannot get much easier than that surely. This is my Tomato, Basil and Balsamic Shots. Bloody nice, like really bloody nice.

Plus how good do these look? I’d be proud to serve this up any day of the week. You could also add a couple of drops of Tabasco if you want to up the heat ante, and maybe even a splash of the hard stuff – vodka of course. Just wonderful. Here are my Tomato Basil and Balsamic Shots. ENJOY!!!
