How to make Butter and Coriander Prawns at home...

Here we go, the start of Butter Coriander Prawns: Throw in the bag about 20 whole prawns, about half a pack of butter that is soft enough to massage, two bunches of chopped coriander, salt and pepper, and 2 tablespoons of lime juice.

Seriously that’s it, that’s all you need to do for Butter Coriander Prawns. Zip up the bag and move the prawns around so they all get nicely coated. Try to leave this marinating for about 1-2 hours. Sadly I was a little late as was sat down at the hawker having a beer, so mine only got about 45 minutes, but still, Butter Coriander Prawns turned out really nice.

When you are ready whack the prawns on the BBQ – you don’t need to keep touching and turning, just literally when the prawns turn nice and pink and maybe a little charred, spin them over and repeat. And you are done.

This lot disappeared in the blink of an eye – so I assume they were good – Ollie just confirmed yes they were. I saw one other pretty good recipe from Dairy Farmers of Canada of all people, who also use some lime in the mix. Nice touch. Hey, make it yours, it’s just a guideline. Butter and Coriander Prawns Recipe: Conclusions

Butter prawns are one of Asia’s most beloved seafood dishes, and for very good reason. At its heart, butter prawns are exactly what they sound like — succulent prawns cooked in a rich, buttery sauce, often infused with garlic, curry leaves, chillies, and aromatic spices depending on the regional style. Particularly popular in Malaysia and Singapore, butter prawns have evolved into many delicious variations, from creamy buttery sauces to the famous dry-style butter prawns topped with crispy egg floss.

Chef Kenno absolutely loves butter prawns because they deliver everything you could possibly want in a seafood dish: sweet juicy prawns, rich buttery flavours, fragrant aromatics, and enough sauce to have everyone fighting over the last piece of bread to mop up the plate.

The best butter prawns recipe starts with the freshest prawns you can find and a healthy amount of butter — because this is definitely not the time for restraint. Add plenty of garlic, curry leaves, a touch of chilli for warmth, and perhaps some evaporated milk or cream if you’re going for the saucy version. F

or Chef Kenno, the ultimate butter prawns recipe is all about balance: rich but not heavy, buttery but not greasy, and always allowing the natural sweetness of the prawns to shine through. Served with steaming hot rice, crusty bread, or simply eaten straight from the platter with fingers and plenty of napkins, butter prawns are pure comfort food and one of the very best prawn recipes you can cook at home. 🍤🧈🧄🔥😋 ENJOY!!!
