A heart attack waiting to happen, but…

Cholesterol???

Nah come on I can’t even spell it. But this really is a heart attack waiting to happen, but seriously what a way to go if if did indeed happen. Just too good.

This was enough for my four, with some left over as it is quite filling.

  • 1 ciabatta loaf sliced on the angle to about 1/2″ thick slices
  • 5 garlic cloves chopped very finely
  • Some good olive oil
  • 2 packs of foie gras
  • 2 packs of bacon cubes
  • 1 pack of smoked chicken breast
  • 1 pack of Iberico ham
  • Salt

I know, I know – not exactly a budget meal. But worth EVERY penny in my book.

Take a baking tray and line it with silver foil. Lay out the bread slices evenly. Drizzle with some olive oil, sprinkle some salt and evenly sprinkle the finely chopped garlic. Bash this in a 250 degree oven and let it start to crisp and brown. This should take about 10-15 minutes. Don’t let it burn though.

In a pan throw in the bacon. No oil needed. Fry this off until the bacon is browned and crispy. Add in the foie gras and break it up with a spatula. The heat of the pan should make the foie gras melt in to the bacon almost making a sort of pate texture.

Out of the oven comes the bread, hopefully now nicely browned. Spoon on the bacon and foie gras and spread with a knife. Almost like a pate as mentioned above.

Finely slice the Iberico ham and smoked chicken breast. Place a small pike on to each piece of bread and then drizzle again with a little olive oil.

Back in to the oven on 250 for about another 10 minutes – out they come, serve hot.

This will BLOW YOU AWAY.

If you don’t like this, you don’t deserve to be able to eat!!!

Enjoy!!!
