Mr Piglet East Village Review

Mr Piglet offers the Best Bahn Mi in Simpang Bedok

Mr Piglet East Village Restaurant

Headed to Mr Piglet today for lunch and opted for the Bahn Mi. Their menu features a variety of different cuisines from around the world but the Chef is Vietnamese so my choice went that way!

Mr Piglet East Village Restaurant a Very Unassuming Restaurant

From the outside the restaurant does not look too much, in fact there is another space they operate that is opposite but both are nothing much to look at and in fact we have walked passed numerous times and not looked beyond the images on the wall of the multiple food choices, from Vietnamese, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines and even Italian!

It was only at breakfast yesterday at Sek Bao Mei who is next door that we got more time to check them out, hence me dropping by for lunch! Many places in Simpang Bedok are closed on Mondays like Ramen Ya and Bedok Market Place.

Mr Piglet Food Delivery

The one thing that caught my eye was the number of food delivery devices on the back shelf at the restaurant which showed me the way a modern day restaurant is set up is smaller location, light on staff, more digital inclusion for delivery channels. Good work Mr Piglet!

Mr Piglet Bahn Mi

Now I have eaten my fair share of Bahn Mi in my time and this one is up there for sure. Whilst a simple dish of French crusty bread with pickled vegetables, pork and coriander aka cilantro you get so many flavours popping all at once especially if like me you add chili-padi in soya sauce! My tastebuds felt like a baddie in a Batman TV show, Bam! Pow! Zap! This was sooooo good i almost ordered another one on the spot! But I managed to overcome the urge!

The coriander (clearly part of my 5 a day) covering the pork leaves little to the imagination so I just had to do a close up shot for this post to show you just how good the pork was!

What next I hear you scream? No that was lunch and all in about 6 bites! I destroyed that beast and would have easily done one more for the road! But next visit will be a different country for sure but I am so tempted to go back even right now as I type for another one!

Great work Mr Piglet, you have impressed me on the first attempt!
