Meatsmith Telok Ayer where BBQ Meets Craft Brews on Tap

Meatsmith Telok Ayer

Meatsmith Telok Ayer stands as a testament to the art of American barbecue with a global twist. This smokehouse, the brainchild of renowned Australian chef-owner Dave Pynt, has quickly become a must-visit destination for meat lovers and outright food adventurers alike.

You might even remember when Chef Kenno went along to Makansutra Gluttons Bay and headed to Meatsmith when the kids were much much younger!

Meatsmith Telok Ayer’s menu is a Carnivore’s Paradise

Meatsmith Telok Ayer’s menu is a carnivore’s dream come true. The restaurant’s signature dishes showcase the magic that happens when premium cuts of meat meet expert smoking techniques, dry aged and international flavors.

The Meatsmith Wagyu Burger is So, So Good!

The Meatsmith Wagyu Burger is a standout, featuring double patties and double cheese, complemented by a tangy burger sauce and pickles. For those seeking a more substantial meal, the Beef Brisket, smoked for 14 hours with a salt and pepper rub, offers a melt-in-your-mouth experience that’s hard to beat.

The picture I took does not do it justice so I stole this one from their website (hope you all don’t mind)! It tasted as good as this looks!

Steak enthusiasts will find their happy place here too. The 200g Pure Black Angus Onglet and the impressive Dry Aged Wanderer Porterhouse (minimum 500g) are cooked to perfection and served with a green salad and béarnaise sauce.

Beyond Beef

While beef takes center stage, Meatsmith Telok Ayer’s menu offers a diverse range of proteins to satisfy all palates. The Half Chicken, mesquite smoked and served with grilled broccolini and aioli, provides a lighter yet equally flavorful option. The Pork Ribs, smoked for 3 hours and glazed with a zesty lime and chipotle sauce, are fall-off-the-bone tender.

Seafood lovers aren’t left out either. The Seabass, served with a rich gumbo sauce and andouille sausage, offers a taste of New Orleans in the heart of Singapore.

Platters for Sharing

One of the highlights of dining at Meatsmith Telok Ayer is the opportunity to sample a variety of meats through their generous platters. The Premium Platter, designed for two, is a feast featuring cornbread, fish tacos, pork belly burnt ends, beef cheek pastrami, pork ribs, lamb chop, Portoro ribeye, and beef short rib.

For larger groups or those with heroic appetites, the Mother of All Platters serves six and includes an even more extensive selection of meats and sides.

Sides and Starters

The attention to detail extends beyond the main courses. Starters like the Smoked Burrata with Beetroot Salad and the Pork Belly Burnt Ends showcase the kitchen’s versatility. Side dishes such as the Pastrami Mac and Cheese and Sweet Corn with Creole Butter perfectly complement the smoky main courses.

Sweet Endings

Despite the meat-centric menu, Meatsmith Telok Ayer doesn’t neglect dessert. The Peach Cobbler and Lemon Curd Cheesecake offer a sweet conclusion to the meal, while the Coconut Ice Cream with Pineapple and Toasted Coconut provides a tropical twist.

Meatsmith Xpress: BBQ on the Go

For those craving Meatsmith’s signature flavors but short on time, Meatsmith Xpress Telok Ayer offers a convenient takeaway and pick-up service. This new addition to the Meatsmith family brings the same high-quality, wood-fired dishes to a grab-and-go format. Whether you’re rushing back to the office or planning a delicious meal at home, Meatsmith Xpress ensures you don’t have to compromise on taste.

From those juicy burgers to smoky brisket sandwiches, the menu features carefully curated items that travel well without sacrificing the bold flavors that Meatsmith is known for. It’s the perfect solution for busy professionals and food enthusiasts alike who want to enjoy premium barbecue on their own schedule.

Meatsmith Beverages

Meatsmith Telok Ayer offers an impressive array of beverages to complement its barbecue-focused menu. The drink selection caters to various tastes, featuring an extensive list of cocktails, wines, and spirits. Whisky enthusiasts will appreciate the diverse range of bourbon, rye, Scotch, and world whiskies available. The cocktail menu showcases both classic and innovative creations, such as the Southern Whisky Fizz and the Smoked Old Fashioned, which perfectly align with the restaurant’s smoky theme.

Meatsmith Telok Ayer Beers

For beer lovers like me, Meatsmith offers a curated selection of tap beers, including the Australian 4 Pines Pacific Ale and the locally brewed People People Lager from Singapore. These draft options provide a refreshing counterpoint to the rich, smoky flavors of the barbecue dishes.

**Disclaimer** Warning: I did enquire on what happens when Singaporeans order 4 Pines because it sounds very much like them ordering 4 Pints normally!! Apparently it has been noted before!

The wine list features carefully selected bottles from renowned wine regions, with options available by the glass or bottle. For those preferring non-alcoholic options, the restaurant offers a variety of creative mocktails and soft drinks.

Overall, the beverage program at Meatsmith Telok Ayer is designed to enhance the dining experience, offering something for every palate and perfectly complementing the bold flavors of its barbecue cuisine.

The Meatsmith Experience

What sets Meatsmith Telok Ayer apart is not just its food but the overall dining experience. The restaurant’s ambiance strikes a balance between casual and upscale, making it suitable for both family dinners and business lunches. The staff’s knowledge of the menu and attentive service enhance the dining experience.

Whether you’re a barbecue aficionado or simply someone who appreciates good food, Meatsmith Telok Ayer offers a unique food experience with all those twists like a twisty turny thing. It successfully marries the tradition of American barbecue with international flavors, creating a dining experience that is distinctly Singaporean yet globally inspired.

As Meatsmith expands its reach with new locations like the one in Jakarta, it’s clear that Dave Pynt’s vision of reimagining the modern barbecue experience is resonating with diners across Asia.

For those in Singapore, however, the original Telok Ayer location remains the ultimate destination for top-notch barbecue with a gourmet twist.
