Katong Jago Char Kway Teow
Katong Jago Char Kway Teow is located at Brunners Coffeeshop at 228 E Coast Road
My friend Andre wanted to take me for an Ang Mo meal at Brunners Coffeeshop in Katong on the way home from a meeting, the speciality of the place was a Beef Wellington but alas Meet 4 Meat had shut down 2 months before at this location so we had to opt for what was available! With almost half the stalls empty we went for the Katong Jago Char Kway Teow which has 4.5 Star reviews on Google!
We opted for the $6 plate and an additional $2 for cockles, pricey I reckon but hawker standards but the price of everything including cockles has skyrockets of late so what to do!!
As you can see the sheer volume of the char kway teow was large and trust me it did not touch the sides! I slurped it down and with all that stunning liquid surrounding every last morsel it was not difficult!
Those razor thin slices of Taiwan sausage were juicy and fatty, the beansprouts crunchy and the noodles so long I could tie my trainers with them! A little disappointed were the size of the cockles (that’s what she said)! I had to look for them scattered throughout the dish, so that additional $2 was not of value to b honest! Overall its a 4/5 for me!
I’ll keep looking for the Best Char Kway Teow in Katong but for me this is not the one!
