there&#8217;s a relatively new outlet that&#8217;s been the talk of the town &#8211; <strong>Alley Wei<\/strong>. This halal-certified eatery is a haven for those craving authentic Taiwanese street food with a unique twist. As I stepped into Alley Wei, the first thing that struck me was its no-frills, cozy ambiance that transported me straight to the bustling streets of <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/islifearecipe.net\/fong-sheng-hao\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Taiwan\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">Taiwan<\/a> minus the smelly Tofu and pick pockets!<\/p><p>Alley Wei reminded me of a mini <a href=\"https:\/\/islifearecipe.net\/din-tai-fung-parkway-parade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Din Tei Fung<\/a> with the chefs all busy working like Minions behind the glass window for the world to see how it all works! But I guess <a href=\"https:\/\/islifearecipe.net\/mall-restaurant-directory\/marina-bay-sands-restaurants\/fatt-choi-express\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Din Tai Fung<\/a> being Taiwanese they need to follow suit on the coat tails of their success.<\/p><p>I did Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dintaifung.com.tw\/eng\/about.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Din Tai Fung Xinyi District, Taipei City<\/strong><\/a>, long before they became World Famous and the queue was damn long, well over an hour at least, we really did not have enough time to <a href=\"https:\/\/islifearecipe.net\/mall-restaurant-directory\/jem-food\/eat\/\">eat<\/a> there that night, but a little old lady working there came through the crowd and ushered the only <a href=\"https:\/\/islifearecipe.net\/mall-restaurant-directory\/vivocity-food\/white\/\">white<\/a> guy in the queue forward and found us a table for two upstairs, my Singaporean Chinese colleague was taken a back!\u00a0<\/p><p>That is what you call <strong>White Privilege<\/strong> and no I did not ask for it, it just happened, when the shoe is on the other foot I&#8217;d like to know what you would do! Suffice to say, the <a href=\"https:\/\/islifearecipe.net\/shanghai-fried-xiao-long-bao-recipe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Xiao Long Bao<\/strong><\/a> were incredible and the rest is history! I started with the Pan-Fried Dumplings, priced at a reasonable $4.80. Each dumpling was a burst of flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside while maintaining a succulent interior. Moving on, the Scallion Pancake, priced at $4.20, was a delightful mix of flaky layers and a subtle hint of scallion &#8211; a perfect balance of texture and taste.<\/p><p>As many readers know I love my Chili accompaniments, here they have chili oil (so so, no that spicy), a chili sauce that did not enough for me to even take a picture or give it a mention, so somewhat lacking in that department.
