What an absolute gem this place, in the very cool foodie location of Telok Avery. Literally a spit from my work, but I have never been to see my mate Mark there before. But believe me folks it is now going to become a regular for me, and it’s getting a die die standard as Mark personal hand-crafts and serves and everything is truly amazing. You have to try Bakery and Bar, @ 112 Telok Ayer Street.
If you like home-made bread, fresh home-baked bread – you have to get yourself here. And if you like fresh home-baked Sourdough I URGE you to get yourself here and speak to Mark. This bread is insanely good. Such a lovely crunch and then salty gooey interior. Some of the very best bread ever!
ChillaxBBQ will be using these guys for sure – have a look at the quality of this bread. Seriously so so good.
A little butter, some salt and pepper, with some little sweet peppers. Amazing! Simple, and simply delicious.
Here’s the main man Mark Mottram about to knock out his version of what looked to me as version of a Frittata. Amazing looking, just a beautiful dish with a little bread and those peppers.
If only you could smell this, believe me. How good does all that look in there.
Have a look at that belter of fluffy eggy goodness.
Small little galley kitchen does not stop Mark and team knocking out dish after dish of seriously good chow.
I think I’ll be stealing some of this for ChillaxBBQ. Very fresh. The salami was killer, along with the Chorizo. How nice does that look!
Happy campers all round. Oh yes, if I were you I would seriously consider booking. No space at all in there last night.
He’s a busy boy is Mark!
And last up for this wee blog is his infamous Paella. Oh yes! I’m seriously taking some tips from him for ChillaxBBQ’s first foray in the world of Paella
I am just updating this blog – few errors, my bad sorry Mark. But what happened last night was so insanely good, I have to call it out. Mark mentioned his home made pork pies, and would I like one. Is the Pope a Catholic mate. So verbal transaction done, I had to wait a couple of days. Mince needs a making, setting, cooking. Pastry needs making. Pie needs making. Pie needs cooling. Jelly needs pouring in. Jelly needs setting. Oh man this is going to be so so so good. And OMG it was – just have a look at this. I got home at midnight after having had a major chat and tasting session with mark, I could not wait and the first slice was a midnight snack. Best pork pie ever. Get yourself to Bakery and Bar, @ 112 Telok Ayer Street and get one yourself!!!
Is that not a thing of beauty? I am in love! Was that a WOW moment or what when Mark unveiled this! And it’s ALL mine ha ha!
When I said all mine, this 1st slice was. But now the kids and Mary have found it. Not mine anymore – it’s become an ‘ours’. (apologies for for crappy photo – iPhone, night-time, few beers…)
Bakery and Bar, @ 112 Telok Ayer Street apologies for the photo quality. I only had my iPhone. Next time I will come prepared, and believe me there will be a next time very soon. Cracking food, ambience, location and staff – all at very affordable prices for what you’re consuming. Go see Mark at team. True quality. Don’t forget to book though, and when you do go I know 100% that you will – ENJOY!!!
